Quiet places

OOC: Go easy on me, its been 3 years since I've written anything.

BIC:Running, that was one thing that, short of an accident, no one could ever take away. No matter what curves life threw, whenever things got tough, the act of running always had a calming effect. Tempest had always been hyper and high strung; even as a foal he had always needed an outlet. Now as an adult he was still constantly moving. Some days weren’t as bad and he could calm down enough to act semi normal. But other days, if he were particularly excited or upset he would just head to the fields and run for hours.

The good thing was it gave him time to think. The bad thing was... it gave him time to think. He didn’t used to mind it but of late the thinking seemed to just upset him all the more. He would end up running even harder to try to stop the memories until finally, he would have to collapse under a copse of trees and catch his breath. He tried not to dwell on the past, he really did, but every once in a while those sneaky little memories would come up so suddenly that he didn’t get his guards up in time. Knowing he should be content and actually being content were two different things. Being with this bonded was nice and he was happy but sometimes the bitterness of being left would crop up and take him hostage. Slowing he took a good look around, sometimes he forgot to pay attention when he ran and would wind up getting lost but thankfully today he had stayed in familiar territory.

Slowing even more he trotted over to a shady spot in the small valley. This particular spot was his favorite spot to come think, it was at the base of one of the hills, having a few large globe willows scattered around a gently flowing creek that had a small outlet pool nestled between the willows. Taking a long drink, he concentrated on slowing his heart rate and between the cool water and the gentle breeze he was successful. He walked over to sit at the base of the nearest willow and force his thoughts to a happier place. Like his new him. Keira and the others were all nice, true he didn’t exactly get along with some of the others, but he didn’t dislike them. It was just a matter of difference in personalities.

OOC| Don't yell at me for playing too much. >_<

BIC| Frolic trotted along - and grudgingly. She had not wanted to leave her dense rain forest. Her coat was still slightly damp and the scent of fresh blossoms wafted around in her aura, though for the way her brow creased she could have left weeks ago.

She had not wanted to leave.

Of course her bonded had kicked her out - and quite unceremoniously, at that. Snorting at the memory, Frolic shook off her coat and stamped a hoof, absently bucking up and then falling back to roll once, twice, three times in the fresh dirt. Perhaps her energies were getting a little high, from keeping herself cooped in her realm for so long... If a little agitation lead to such an itch in her limbs, she could concede to that much at least.

Prancing in agitation, she started on her way once again and felt a small smile tug at the corners of her mouth while her muscles warmed and stretched. Okay, maybe this wasn't... Too terrible.

She had grown comfortable in her home, alone with her thoughts as she tried to make peace with her past and nurse the fragile sanity that had once threatened to break. Perhaps too comfortable. It was time to go out into other realms once again... To live again.

Avalanche would have been surprised at her extended period of self-imposed imprisonment. The thought made her cringe a little. He had been there when no others had understood; he had helped keep her from diving off that brink.

Now it was on her to decide how to go forward, much less which direction forward was exactly.

For the moment she decided it lay in the direction of the lithe blue stallion that was resting somewhere up ahead and to her right. Company would be a good point to start at, if she were to move forward; to have something more than her own thoughts for a change would be good for her.

Undoubtedly that was her bonded's thinking when she kicked her out on her rump, but that didn't exactly change the fact that when she did go home it would be to give that minx of a strangeling an earful. And perhaps a hug... And a golden apple or two.

As Tempest was gathering his strength to head home he heard someone calling out. Looking around he was a green serian trotting towards him. Standing up he streched as he replied "Hello." and waited for the new comer to join up. He was a little nervous as he had never enountered anyone in this part of the fields before but tried to kep an open mind and remember that it was always good to meet new serians. Whats the worst that could happen?

Well that didn't give her much to go off of, now did it? Perhaps this fellow was just as rusty as she was... Or perhaps he was simply rude.

"I'm Frolic. I think I remember you, honestly... Vaguely. It's been a long while."

And many of her memories were so much shattered bits of dark pain.

Looking him over, she turned slightly and promptly settled down on the ground, tucking her back legs to the side so that the spines poked out behind her. The first step would have to be learning to talk again, wouldn't it? Or did serians simply jump into random games these days, without a proper introduction?

"It's been a long while since I've been here, as well. I barely remember what to do now that I am."

Well, at least I know I'm not going to be ignored here Tempest thought with a smile. He hadnt expected to see anyone in these parts, truth be told he hadnt wanted to see anyone, but this was an unexpected surprise.

"Hello there. I'm sorry to say even though yo look familiar I'm not sure that we've met."

Taking lead from her casal air he sat back down and relaxed. It would be nice to have a relaxing conversation. He hadn't been able to do that since he'd been abandoned. Things with his new bonded, while nice, were tense. There were several there trying to adjust to their new home and the tension was thick. Time enough for that later though. For now he would just enjoy some company and maybe make a friend.

"I'm Tempest."

OOC| I was hooooping to see someone else hop in as well if I just waited a bit. ><

BIC| Frolic felt her lips twitch a bit as he settled in with her, glad for the chance of honest company and that this stranger would be so willing to simply sit for a while. It was different, but she was forced to admit that it was well passed time for a change of pace.

"I can't say for certain that we have or haven't before, to be honest with you. I was abandoned for a very long time; old faces that I had known before then sometimes linger as ghosts in my memory. Though if I do look familiar to you, perhaps that bodes well?"
