Tempest followed behind her without question or explanation needed. The rain was coming down hard even for his preference and the sky was rapidly darkening. He wasn't sure just where they were going as he hadn't been around these parts in quite some time but he vaguely remembered some sort of shelter near the trees.

Following behind her he started slipping in the mud a little but managed to stay upright for the most part, only sliding a few times. Wherever they were going though, he hoped they were almost there.

Leaf Fall also lost her footing once or twice as they traveled, sliding along the slick ground before catching herself. Now and again she looked over her shoulder to see how the stallion was faring, but he seemed to be fine.

Following the looming grey-black shadow of the caves, it wasn't long until they became firmer in shape and detail. She could soon realize there were many, though the lower ones seemed likely to flood. Going up a small grassy rise, she carefully approached the dim opening of the caves rocky mouth.

Taking a step inside, she stomped up and down on the hard, echoing floor. She also let out a high whinny and then waited. After a few moments, she turned to her companion. "Either the cave is empty, or whatever lives in here is more scared of us than we should be of it." With this conclusion in mind, she started to venture further inside, sitting down to catch her breath.

OOC: Sorry its so short. I guess im not getting very much creative juice flowing right now :dies:

BIC: Stepping in to the cave behind her he shook the rain off of his coat. Luckily they had made it without serious incident or injury and he breathed a sigh of relief. "I'd forgotten about these caves. I guess its been too long since I've been in this part."

Coming to stand across from her he sat with about 3 feet separating them "Thanks for leading me up here. I'm not sure what I'd have done if i'd been stuck out there. My name is Tempest by the way." Eyes adjusting to the dim light he smiled at her, once again admiring the gold flecks on her.

[Don't worry about it love! Take your time :)]

As she was catching her breath, the stallion eased himself down across from her. Truth be told, Leaf Fall wasn't a fan of thunder at all, and the booming noise was wreaking havoc on her nerves.

He started to speak, giving her another welcome noise to concentrate on. "Well you seem to have an affinity for water judging by your looks, so I think you could endure it better than me." She laughed almost sarcastically before continuing. Now was not the time to reflect on her helplessness when it came to water. She could barely swim...

"Ah no problem though. It's nice to have company. I don't rather like-" a loud boom and flashing light startled her, making her emit a slight whiny. Choking back her embarrassment as darkness swallowed them again, she cleared her throat. "I don't like thunder. Or lightning. I'm sure you realized. I'm Leaf Fall, nice to meet you."

Having been watching her as they sat for the few minutes Tempest wasn't exactly surprised to hear her confession of being scared of the thunder. She seemed very anxious and more than a little jumpy at it. He could understand her fear. For a long time, he too, had been easily startled by the Thunder. He had been lucky and back then had some friends who had easily helped him overcome his fear. He was guessing she had not been so lucky. Although looking back on it he wasn't so sure that he had been lucky having those "friends" either.

"Its nice to meet you Leaf Fall, I'm Tempest." He was finding it a little difficult to put his thoughts together at the moment and she had probably noticed his lengthy pause after she had stopped talking but hopefully he could get his head cleared and carry on a decent conversation. It had been a long time since he had been in the fields, let alone in the company of someone other than his bondeds. Hopefully he hadn't forgotten how to even speak to others.

Smiling he continued "I had been wondering if you were a little startled by it, but mostly because I used to be as well so I could recognize behavior." He was hoping the smile he had been giving her was warm and relaxed but after all these years he would just have to work with what he had and hope he didn't scare the poor girl.

Leaf Fall flicked strands of her mane out of her face, since they had started to dry and would now listen to her somewhat. She was starting to get a bit chilly though, hopefully they could find some way to start a fire or something to use as insulation. Night was coming and the rain wan't letting up, so she was pretty much convinced she was going to end up getting sick after this. Well, no use being pessimistic, she had a pretty good immune system!

As Temptest introduced himself, she smiled. "Hmmm yep, that suits you. Definitely look like a 'tempest'." Did her name suit her? The glittering marks on her side could be seen as falling autumn leaves, perhaps. She was far more of an air-Serian than a water-Serian anyway, so today was not her kind of day at all. When Tempest continued speaking, she was a bit surprised by his revelation. He hadn't twitched even once, was he just saying that to make her feel better? Either way, she wasn't much of a prideful Serian, so she didn't mind the gesture if it was one.

"Really? You seem to be completely fine with it now. What made you change?" She didn't think it was a super personal question, so she wasn't afraid of pressing him for information. That, and Leaf Fall didn't have the best social manners to begin with. Her talk first think later style had her hoof in her mouth as much as it was on the ground. So far so good with Tempest though, but could she keep small talk up all night? Or would they start delving deeper as they got to know each other? She didn't have much to hide so she was game for anything!
