Sunspot smiled and said Well you just met one of them. My bonded is the daughter of your bonded. Cool, eh? speaking of extended family, wasn't that two of Songhue's herd? He recognized BlackIce but not the stallion with him. He decided to not call attention to them, in case they didn't want to talk.

Sunspot was so very excitable, it was quite adorable. He was beginning to endear himself to her, and very quickly. "That is very cool, Sunny." She said. Suddenly, her ears perked, and she looked to see two stallions thundering up to them. "Are they part of the big family, or should I be concerned?" She said with a hint of hesitation in her voice. One thing she had discovered on her time by herself is that not everyone can be so nice. She was, luckily, able to handle herself. They didn't seem to stink of danger, so she was mostly fine, but still. One can never be too careful.

Well, the pair didn't trot out to meet them, which gave them quite the grand entrance. Thyme gave a smooth transition, quickly switching to a full stop within a few steps until he was almost directly beside the bright red stallion. BlackIce, however, pulled short with a rough sliding stop, quickly throwing his weight to the side so that he turned and wound up between Thyme and the strange mare.

Sundrop! BlackIce said in apparent pleasure, a large, rogue-ish grin splashing over his face. I haven't seen you in a while; how's the odd little Bat-bond doing? Still telling those stories of hers?

Ah, you must be the Circlemate that Caustic has taken a fancy to, Thyme smiled. Clearly you've met our Grandfather BlackIce; I'm Thyme, and pleased to meet you both. Would you introduce us to your friend?

I am not a grandfather, BlackIce countered, looking at the rather extravigent mare with an uncertain tilt to his ears. It's a nickname among my bondmates; a tradition started by our rather eccentric bonded. Yet I ain't old enough to be a proper grandaddy.

Grinning, Thyme added It's true; they call me the Dryad. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, fair lady. And Sundrop, it's about time I met you proper, I do believe. You've become quite a figure among my bondmates.

Sunny smiled as he saw the two stallions approach. Sundrop? That's new. Yes Fyre, these are some of your extended family. He looked at the two stallions and said It's great to see you again BlackIce. She's fine, still spinning tales like a spider spins her web. It's great to meet you Thyme. My bonded can't hear the word without thinking of you. This lovely lady is Moonfyrelily, Krinlith's new bonded, and our new cousin. He turned back to Fyre and said BlackIce and Thyme are bonded to Krinlith's sister, Songhue. She's one of the top members in our society. Believe me, she's larger than life. Then he stepped back so the newest member could get acquainted.

"It's very nice to meet you both. I remember Songhue quite fondly, we'd met a few times before. I'm glad to be a part of her extended family. She guards them fiercely, as does my bonded." Fyre said, with a warmth in her voice. All these lovely Serians and all this energy were getting Fyre excited. She felt like doing something.
"So Sunny-boy, do you think you and my new cousins are up for a race?" she said, a grin spreading across her face like a wild fire.

BlackIce and Thyme looked at one another in surprise. All this talk of their bonded was beyond them; as far as they were concerned, she was simply their bonded. It was quite strange to hear about her this way.

Shrugging it off, BlackIce gave a quick bow and said If I might make a proposition? Perhaps a game of StillWaters would be of more interest?

A game our bonded showed us, Thyme explained, his own grin catching at the suggestion. It's rather simple - one of us is real, and the rest are reflections seen in the still water of a lake. Watch.

With that, he turned in place and reared up on a single back hoof, teetering precariously before leaping forward and running a circle around Fyre and Sunny. BlackIce mirrored him almost perfectly, barely a scant second different between motions.

It can be as interesting or as difficult as we want, BlackIce said. He was panting slightly, whereas Thyme seemed fine; Thyme had a great sense of balance from his days of reaching high into trees for treats or helping to return fallen squirrels or birds to their nests, so what proved easy for him was a strain to BlackIce who lived in frozen caverns deep in the ground. If anyone breaks the chain of reflections they become the one who's real.

Perking their ears, they waited to see what Sundrop would say; he would probably be the deciding factor.
