Spectrum smiled in understanding and answered Carrots are orange vegetables that look kind of like icicles. She went back to drinking the carrot liquid when out of nowhere she was hit with a blast of cold. Her head shot up to see the little one running off. Guessing a snowball was thrown in play, she grinned and ran after her, easily catching up. She bumped the foal just hard enough to knock her into a pile of soft snow. She cantered a little further before stopping to see what the little one will do.

Squealing, the little filly let herself tumble sideways, enjoying the flop - and then rolling about in the soft powder. With a happy snort she sprang back up and sent an explosion of snow in all directions, dusting anything nearby.

Prancing, AuraSidra turned in a tight circle and bucked, kicking up yet more of the blindingly white fluff. It almost seemed that a fresh layer was falling, with all the commotion she was making - at this point she wasn't even sure if she was getting anywhere near her new playmate, only that she was enjoying herself.

When the snow kept falling she lifted her head and sniffed the air, tasting the cold; it wasn't a tree she'd knocked without realizing it but indeed a fresh layer drifting down around her. Breathing in smoky little puffs she looked at Spectrum and grinned, perfectly pleased.

It was a good moment; but it was also a quick one. She would grow bored before long.

Scrambling up the nearest tree she swung herself upsidedown again, finding another moment's entertainment by squeaking I'ma Iceicle! before dropping down and trying her best to land on Spectrum, this time driving the mare into a snowdrift. It was lawless fun, but it was all the more exciting for it.

Even still, her amusement was quickly fading. She needed more than a romp through snow; however fun, it didn't catch her interest.

Spectrum, covered in snow and sides heaving, couldn't stop her giggles. She quickly looked at the filly currently lying on top of her, and noticed that she didn't seem to be enjoying herself quite as much anymore. She began to panic a little bit, not wanting to lose the little one's interest. She looked around and noticed what appeared to be a small ice cave. She went to stand up, trying to gently shake the foal off. Hey, AuraSidra! Look over there. Wanna go check it out? she asked, watching her reaction carefully.

The filly gave a tilt of her head, her attention suddenly focused on the entrance to the ice-carved caverns. She barely noticed as she was gently slid back onto all four hooves; now this seemed interesting.

She hardly glanced at Spectrum as she started forward, trotting lightly to the entrance and poking her nose in. For a moment she'd thought she'd seen something; for a moment she'd been utterly captivated. It was with a start that she came back to herself as her nose passed into the chilly air of the cavern, on ear flicking back uncertainly.

Dere was a light, she said, stubbornly ignoring the slight quaver in her voice as she looked back at Spectrum with all the uncertainty of a young foal seeking the aid of a grown up, Di'joo see? A lih-tul... Glow-wee spark. It made me f'rgit.

It was the only words she knew to use; she didn't know "trance." Regardless, it was still accurate. She'd forgotten everything as she'd stepped forward, knowing only that the way the lightspark played against the walls of the ice cavern was fascinating. She still wanted to go in, wanted to look for that spark; it pulled at her. But she didn't like knowing she was actually helpless. Until that moment she'd had the certainty that she was practically invincible.

Stomping one tiny hoof she took a deep breath, looked at Spectrum for a moment and bolted inside the cave. She would not be afraid of a strange little light! Le's find it!

One certainly couldn't fault her sense of adventure...

Spectrum galloped after the filly, quickly catching up. She hadn't seen the light herself, having been too focused on the little one's reaction. She was very startled by what she saw. The foal actually looked almost scared. For a filly that frequently haggles with bears and out did Caustic as easily as one draws a breath, she must have been pretty freaked out for her voice to become quavery. Spectrum hoped she hadn't just made a really big mistake. She kept close by the little one's side, ready to assist her in any way she could. Not too close to crowd, but close enough to act fast if needed. Now, let's just hope it won't be.

The cave was fascinating, the varying thickness of the ice making it easy to become lost. Parts of the walls were like mirrors, while several columns were as glass - neither of which she had any sort of reference for outside of it being ice.

It also made it very hard to pinpoint where a shimmery, flickering light originated from. AuraSidra was glad her friend was sticking close - the presence was a comfort. Her eyes stayed ahead, ears perked forward as she slowly recovered pieces of her bravery - or at least she seemed to as her curiosity took over. What was that strange light?

The ground started to slope as they wandered deeper into the caves and the filly began to forget how to get back out - it seemed she'd always been in the ice, that she always would be. As the ground grew steeper she found herself beginning to slide; her tiny little hooves couldn't get enough traction. Yet she hardly noticed; the caves were getting brighter and had begun to take on a green tint.

With a bleat she felt her legs go out from under her, at that point not even certain which hoof had slipped first, and reached up in an attempt to grab Spectrum's mane or tail or something with her teeth.
