Woops. Well, she tried. Time to help again. This time, Typhoon used a bit of a gentler touch when helping Aura up. She once again used her abilities to help Aura back on her feet, and even cleaned off some of the mud for her. "Careful, kiddo. Let's pay attention to our surroundings, huh?" she said, as she gave Aura a gentle pat with her wing. This was going to be interesting.

Well, that kickstarted her brain. She'd explored before, but had she ever honestly paid attention? It didn't seem like it. Tilting her head at Typhoon she squinted her eyes for a moment and looked around the swamp once more, and this time she really looked. There were a ton of things to trip over; half sunken branches, a log with eyes, places where vague rippled hinted at an unstable surface where the land dipped and swelled and somehow looked to be flat at the same time.

Wait a second; a log with eyes?

Since I'm bein' careful, she muttered, gluing her gaze to the odd discovery, should old bits of wood have eyes... And teeth?

Automatically taking a half step back got her to step on one of those sticks she'd noticed before; except that this stick spun around and tried to sink teeth into her. AuraSidra just got mad, snorting angrily as she bucked up when she felt it squirm under her hoof and planting one tiny, jewel green hoof square on the side of the python's head.

Rude! she declared, glaring at the (now quite dizzy) snake. A sneaking, addle-brained weasel, that's what you are! Get!

And she proceeded to stomp and splash and chase that snake into hiding under something that was green and slimey and probably something that was in the process of decaying.

Spectrum looked at the swamp around her, wondering where to begin. She had been visiting Black Thorn in his own swamp when he crashed through and began throwing things around and looking under things in a frenzy. Turns out his favorite alligator Annie had laid eggs, they'd hatched, and one had wandered off. Then, being the good big sister she is, she offered to look for him in another area, just in case. So now she was here, swimming through the muddy water that was full of all kinds of creepy-crawlies. Good thing she had been visiting Black Thorn so often, so she was more than used to it by now. She began feeling for the touch of her bonded's magical signature that was on everything she brought to them, when she heard splashing in the distance. She quickly trotted up to see what it was, and promptly froze in her tracks with her jaw hanging open. It was the filly! She hadn't seen her since she'd come to collect her crystals and she had greatly missed the little spitfire young queen, as Batsy called her. When Spectrum had asked her why, she had said, "Just something I picked up on my travels." She didn't know what she meant by travels, but she apparently went on a lot of them. She shook herself out of her stupor and a huge smile split her face as she quickly whinnied a greeting, "Hey, AuraSidra! How's my favorite filly doing?" while trotting out to meet her. She looked at the other mare with her best friend. The mare was... impressive to say the least. Spectrum knew not to get on this mare's bad side. So, she gave an airy smile and said, "Hello. I'm Spectrum. What's your name?

OOC| I'm pulling out/putting this on hold for a bit - I'm perfectly willing to jump back in once things are less sporadic for us all. :) In the meantime though, this little filly as more to explore.

BIC| Spectrum! I'm SO glad to see you! I have to go, but I'll be right back, I just want to see the storms; you can come too if you want!
