Satin's Arrival

Post by Rainer »

The blue mare snorted, tossing her head side to side. Her red mane flipping to the other side of her neck. The part of her tail that wasn't covered in the beige band whipped at the air as the hostile Satin reared up, snorting.

When her hooves touched down, she broke into a canter, moving swiftly through a large open feild. Sharp red eyes were on the look-out for anything that moved, even the swaying tree branches that lay just ahead held her gaze. Red hooves thundered across the ground as she picked up a gallop, surging forward. Then the sudden sliding stop, dirt and dust swirling around her hooves.

She raised her head high, looking around. Curious and shy, this one. Not one to go parading around with others, by herself fit her personality. Independant, if you may.

She snorted, pawing at the ground. The red diamond on her shoulder and the black lines all over her body deffinatly made her unique.

Satin turned in a circle, looking completely around her, making sure no one was close by before lowering her head to graze.

He hadn't meant to go this far away from his companions, but bickering as they were, he wasn't exactly complaining. The large meadow seemed peaceful enough, and he missed the tranquil solitude of his life before the other two had come tramping into it.

Red hooves galloped over the ground, the sunlight shimmering over his smoke silver hide marked with crimson over his shoulders, and glistened over the golden bands surrounding his cropped tail. Scarlet mane fluttered behind him, the same blood color as his wild eyes.

He stopped suddenly, behind a large tree. There was another in this field, a blue serian, from this distance he couldn't tell much other than it's color. His first instinct was to leave, but he decided to observe, maybe it would be worth his time to stay.

Satin's head shot up, ears pinned back. The sound of pounding hooves had caught her attention, then the sudden silence. She trotted a couple steps away, unsure of what to do.

Run? No. They might chase her, whatever or whoever it was. Possibly it was Tornado? No. He had probably forgotten about her. She turned, facing the direction the sound of hooves had come from, and trotted slowly in that direction, almost appearing lazy.

She paused a couple feet away from the tree, and pinned back her ears, swishing her tail in a way a rouge horse would.

"What?" Satin said this almost as if he had said something, but he hadn't, so she felt the need to make herself more clear. "Who are you?"

He saw the serian instantly become alert, acting similair to a wild horse. He watched from behind the tree, seeing it was a female as she drew closer. he didn't reveal himself, even as she spoke to him.

"Id," he replied simply. He never flowered anything, just straight to the point.

She rolled her eyes. Typical male. Satin's ears remained pinned as she pawed at the ground.

"Show yourself... Id, did you say it was?"

She took a couple steps back, still unsure of her being here. She should have ran already. "Just to make it fair, I'm Satin" She grumbled, flicking her tail.

Red eyes searched the edges of the tree, looking for any clues of the stallion's appearance.

With a slight, taut sigh, he extracted himself from behind the tree, standing in fron tof the mare. He flipped his mane slightly.

"Satin," he greeted coolly. So much for his solitude.
