"Possibly. I don't see why it would matter to you..."

She flicked her gaze to a palm tree, her eyes following the steady swaying of the leaves. Satin paused for a moment before speaking again.

"I take it that you have not found anyone of interest to you?"

An almost grin again, gaze still watching the horizon. "No real concern, don't worry. Eve said that in conversations it is best to talk about the other person instead of yourself..."

Yes, he did need lessons on even carrying on a converstaion of more than monosyllabic utterances. He shook his head and snorted.

"I have no time for things like that, it doesn't suit me."

She smirked and sighed, turning her head slightly to glance at him from the corner of her eye. A gust caught her mane, sending it tumbling about her neck, and brushed her tail to the side.

She tightly shut her eyes to avoid sand coming into contact with them. Satin also pinned back her ears, tucking her nose closer to her chest.

He closed his eyes to the sudden gust of sand, but it bothered him nothing more than that. He could feel silences growing, and felt as if he had used all the words he ever had.

He opened his eyes and looked over a Satin, her ruby fire hair and jeweled cost. Thehre was something, different about her, at least to him, but he didn't know what it was. She had been cold when they first met, and now...

"You've changed since I've seen you last," he shrugged, flicking his tail and looking off distantly. "I wonder what we have in common now."

"I'm still cold. But it depends who I'm with. We all change... Eventually." Satin smiled, pawing softly at the sand. "We can't control what happens to others, but we can control what happens to ourselves."

She opened her eyes and took a couple steps towards him, tilting her head slightly. "Someone said... I cannot recall whom, that I was the only mare you had taken interest in." She paused for a moment, thinking. "Is this true?"

He smiled again but only looked her briefly in the eyes before his gaze darted off again.

"Yes, I suppose," he said lightly. "There are not many mares with a fire like yours. Maybe if I had wanted a mate, now or then, it would've been someone like you."

He looked off again, into the sun.
