Web looked up at the sky, the promise of the stars dancing off of her garnet-rosed eyes. Tonight, tonight would be the night like those of her old realm, that realm of eternal night. The stars would flash and blaze in the darkness, like diamonds scattered by a violent hand over the velvet black of the night. She shuddered her half-wings in anticipation, the long grass brushing and singing about her ankles.

"You are sure your mistress does not mind you here with me, Avalir-san?" she turned her head to look over her shoulder, a trace of uncertainty in her normally coy voice.

Her companion looked up and shook his head. Here in the fading light he looked even more beautiful, seeming to blend into the cool sunset, the shadows and light softening his features into something fragile and almost ethereal. It was a heartbreak just to see him, and she smiled a little forlornly, not knowing exactly why she felt the ache of loss.

"Well, come on then," she said, cantering off across the fields. He followed, slower, but his movements edged with a certain grace that she in her wildness could never possess. Why he had come with her, this night of reminiscence, she did not know. Avalir's secrets ran deep and silent, things that would not let themselves be discovered in the liquid ruby of his eyes.

She reached the edge of the plain before the lee without thinking, her hooves knowing this path well. She was surprised to see others there, a band that she has never seen before. Then again, she is hardly ever in the serian lands, always of doing Sethe's tasks in dark exotic places that marked her in the scars that ran over her ebony hide. They owned her more than she owned herself. She felt Avalir come up behind her.

"Do you know any of them?" she asked. She was always the one speaking when they were together, alone. Or else she felt the silence would swallow her.

"No," he answered simply, his voice a bare whispering melody, blending with the night wind that seemed to blow vaguely about them.

She turned her head to observe the group, debating whether to go down or not. She had come to quell that nostalgia that had grown inside her, to show Avalir the glimpse of the land to which she had once belonged. But now, her hesitation caught her.

Ahh he has shown himself. Darkwind's lips quirk slightly before turning her head to face him. A soft smile of invitation flirts about her mouth and her chin lifts, as one eyebrow arches. It was an invitation as well as a challenge, though she would never assume to command anyone's actions, she was rarely refused.

Not that she ever did anything if she was refused, Darkwind was not vindictive...at least not since she grew up. It mattered naught to her, whatever they choose.

A motion not far from their growing gathering draws her attention upto the edge of the plain. There she could see two more, though just barely as night was at last truely falling and covering all in darkness. Momentarily her sight would adjust and she would be able to see them better.

As of then she noticed that one is colored like the finest sunrises and sunsets with fragile butterfly wings. Though really not alike, his wings brought Nighttears to her mind. It warmed her heart to think of him, her fine butterfly.

And the other's black form blends into the shadows too quick for her to discern the attributes possessed by the webbed lady at that distance.

Darkwind whispers, "Nightfall doth bring out the most interesting beings." she waits to see if they'll come down.

((It's okay. ^_^ It is fun to read such posts when they're so well written. *s* *hums* I only worry that we may leave Songhue behind...she is gone for the week I believe. :/ ))

OOC| I got a rare break, so I might be able to catch up a little. :) And theoritically I'm out until the 3rd, but I hope to get a few more odd moments at my Granma's.

BIC| Ears laid back, Path backed away a few steps. There were quite a few serians comming out now and she had to stand out with her glowing ring and sun colours. She held her head high, determined that she wouldn't feel odd surrounded by so many with dark coats, and turned back to Stray.

"I am bonded to Songhue, though I believe you must not have seen that many serians to consider me a beauty. But an earring for you," so murmured, tilting her head at the thought as she eyed Darkwind, "Perhaps. I would think it would have to look like a natural part of you though."

Ficking her tail and causing her light to stutter like a flame, she looked at the three new creatures and wondered vaugely at the pair that arrived together. They were, if nothing else, an unlikely couple. But the dark one, the one that made her think of dark secrets hidden in the black heart of death, she knew he would be one to take care of himself. She nodded in admittance to their presence, not wanting to be rude but not wanting to force them to step forward either.

"I also like your gems," she murmured to Stray, her voice returning to its former resonating tembre as she looked around. "I would think that females would be the only one to have such rich hooves, but they are most stunning with your coat. They bring out your eyes as well." It was odd for him to say that such things as rings and stones weren't needed when he had himself those hooves that forced her to see the eyes that tried to hide behind his main.

(( The dark one's the female, Songhue, Avalir's the boy))

"Shall we go down, then?"

Avalir's voice startled her. It wasn't often like him to take the initiative, nor was he very sociable. she wondered vaguely why he wanted to go down among so many serians, unless he knew how much this night would mean to her. She wouldn't put it beyond him, Avalir had an amazing ability to read emotions and empathize.

"Um, yes, alright," she started off down the hill, her gait slower than usual. She had thought she had gotten rid of her antisocial awkwardness with Chaos, but this night was dredging back many things from her past. Avalir kept be her side, however, instead of behind her. His almost touch was enough to calm her a bit.

They reached the small group, still lingering on the edges. Web smiled lightly, surverying the serians. A dark, wild-seeming mare the color of twilight, another brighter as the sun, two stallions, one a warrior, she could tell almost instantly after her many interactions with Sanguine's group, and the other a rougue. She could sense the power in him, shown by the evanescent crimson of his mane and the feral scarlet of his eyes.

"Mind if we join you?" she asked. Blunt, she had to admit, but she could honestly see no way of dancing around it.

ooc| Lumi, I love your avatar! XD

bic| Ether's head turned, eyes seeming to linger on the pair approaching. The corner of his lips twitched, watching the interactions between the others.

He had noted the crested mare's invitation in the back of his mind, not wanting to intrude since others had arrived.

His ears flicked, catching each word that was exchanged. "Well... This should be an interesting night." He mumbled under his breath, the words seeming to drip from his lips like poisin.

((Thank-you, Rainer. ^^ hehe glad you like. I got it from the lj Iconzicons, they're amazing. <3 ))

Darkwind gives Path a reassuring smile to let her know she didn't have to worry about feeling out of place.

She shakes her head, "Oh, Path...we're often the hardest judges of ourselves. It doesn't mean others are just being nice if they don't agree with our opinions." Darkwind responds to Path's comment kindly. She couldn't help thinking that Path needed a friend who would boost her self-esteem alittle. Such a nice mare shouldn't be so hard on herself.

She turns her attention to the greeting given by a spiderwebbed mare. She must be a warrior. Darkwind decides as her gaze wander over the webs of the wings and the webs that made up the mare's mane. Truely inspiring! she thinks before bowing her head politely in welcome.

"I don't mind at all, please join us, it is turning out to be a beautiful night." Darkwind gazes at the stars as she says this before returning to the faces of her company. "I am Darkwind, tis a pleasure to meet you." she smiles again.

Another chill steals down her back and she looks over to where the rogue stallion is, ears flick forward and back again. Planning to cause trouble I think. Now, she wondered just who exactly she'd invited, not that he looked like he was coming over much closer yet. Better watch your back, Darkie.

She chuckles to herself and swishes her tail carelessly, far from worried about anything that could happen.
