"Only the really stupid stop to turn towards their pursuer." He grinned at her from over his shoulder, and still managed to not smack into a tree.

But, fortionatly, he almost did.

He didn't raise a hoof properly, and hit the tip on a raised root causing him to stumble forward. Luckily he shot his other hoof out and caught himself before he ran into the rough bark.

Ether put all his effort into a couple powerful kicks to ease a bit of the bruise on his ego, flicking his tail in irritation.

"Meant to do that."

She didn't bother stifling an abrupt laugh, however she silenced herself quickly for fear she would anger him with her laughter. Males tended to have easily bruised egos. Very, easily bruised. Trotting forward, she glanced at the offending root on her way by with an obvious smirk.

"I'm sure you did. Any more sly remarks about where one should keep their focus?" Her smirk remained in place, though now there was a soft almost 'purring' noise of laughter that she tried to keep contained. She hadn't known such entertainment since... well, ever. She'd always been the one trying to entertain, trying to appeal to others.

It was refreshing to have someone parade about in front of her, making her smile as they tried to obtain her approval. It seemed as if that might be what he was doing, she didn't know for sure. He surely wouldn't have cared about his little stumble unless he was trying to impress her. She casually loped up beside him as he had done to her, and flicked his side before dashing off.

Here's hoping she didn't repeat his little stunt. Now that would be too embarassing.

Hooves thundered against the damp earth as he bolted after her. A sly grin was plastered on his muzzle as his hooves dug in and carried him smoothly along, appearing almost effortless.

Maybe he was trying to impress her, maybe he was just trying to politely vent all the frustration that had gradually been gathering deep inside of him. With someone like Ether, it was always hard to tell. He carefully came up beside her, and briefly admired her almost dark faerie theme.

Front limbs were locked and his hind end was tucked underneath him. He slid in the mud to a swift stop and afterwards he straightened himself up and waited for her to notice that he was no longer following. His expression was as blank as his eyes, quickly becoming a difficult book to read.

He appeared to be enjoying himself, and though she tried not to look back so as to avoid a little accident, she couldn't help but notice the graceful fluidness of his movements, it was almost mesmerizing really. Which is why it wasn't until he was beside her that she noticed she needed to speed up.

Embarassing. She'd been caught gawking, but she noticed he had taken a moment to admire her as well, which was enough to make her smirk as she trotted along, flicking her tail from side to side rather saucily. Well, if he wasn't trying to impress her, she would just try to impress him, then!

She heard a sound from behind that was enough to earn a double take, as it seemed he had slid to an abrupt halt. Looking around nervously in front of her, she couldn't see anything immediately in front of them to warrant such a sudden stop, so with curiosity registering on her features, she cantered over and peered down.

"Is everything... alright?"
