A River Flows Through It

Take your Serians here to chat or just roam their homeland.
The sun glitters above vast fields ringed by verdant forests to the north, mountains to the south and east, and wide rivers to the west.

Wisp's big smile did make River feel better. And by the time Wisp's smile began to falter, River was already looking about for the "tons" of other Serians about. He couldn't see any, but the Fields were vast. Wisp was probably right, just over the horizon there was probably Circle, and over there, towards the water, there might be some of those fish tailed ones.

Water.

That sounded good right about now. Well, what would one expected from a Serian named River after all?

His glance returned to the other stallion. "It's getting pretty warm out here in the sun, wanna go get something to drink? I see a river or stream just over there," he indicated the direction with a swish of his tail.

He shrugged, the grin fading into a warm smile.

"Water sounds good, just over there? Let's go then, shall we?"

Wisp turned to the direction that River had indicated, and began trotting forth with flowing movements. Each leg was raised so it was bent perfectly then stomped back down, like a Friesian.

He arched his neck, and smirked. This is what Indian called his 'studly' pose. But soon he stretched his head forward, not exactly liking the feeling of being so collected.

It just wasn't him.

On the other hand, River's trot was loose and fluid, as if it required absolutely no effort at all. Though he could not run for long periods of time, he could trot for hours.

He began to hum a little as they moved through the grass, hooves beating upon the dirt. He allowed one ear to flick around, to pick up any sounds that might be about. He sighed happily, that voice seemed to have silenced itself (he didn't kid himsef into thinking that he had managed to conquer it, it was simply dormant of its own will).

It didn't take long to get to the stream, and he paused to take a few sips before walking knee deep into it. He grinned goofily back at Wisp...he was in his element now.

Wisp returned the grin, haulting at the river's edge. His head was stretched down, his lips skimming the glassy surface.

He didn't take a drink... He wasn't thirsty just yet.

The stallion took a couple steps into the liquid so it reached just above his hooves.

"You've seemed to relax. I guess you like water."

He was a typical male, very dense. Of course, now it just hit him that obviously the other male would like the water... Considering his coat pattern and his name. He sighed and shook his head at himself.

River nodded back at Wisp. "Yup, gotta love the water. It cools you, satisfies your thirst, the sound of it flowing calms the soul, the patter of rain refreshes, mist is totally neat and creepy fun, and its even great to play with when its frozen. What's not to like?"

He started prancing about in the water, splashing it in all directions, not noticing whether this was appreciated by Wisp or not. It never occurred to him that some people don't like to get splattered with water in their face. Yes, River was male too, and didn't think before he acted.

Water droplets splattered on his face and coat, but he bearly seemed to notice. Slowly, he bent his head down as River spoke, tracing shapes in the surface with his horns while listening to the other male.

He raised his head and grinned at River, "You don't leave much to say what isn't good about water, you've covered basically all the bases. Except drowning, you didn't mention that. Water filling your lungs... I've heard it's quite painful."

It wasn't his intention to dampen the conversation. He was simply stating a fact.
