I took a moment for River's brain to register that someone was talking to him. The sound of the waves crashing gently on the shore drowned everything out.

"Like it?" he beamed, "It's HUGE!" He tossed his head in the direction of the great expanse of heaving waters. He looked and looked but could see nothing on the the other side of it. It was like it went on forever. For all one knew, perhaps it did.

He wondered if SunBlind would install an ocean near the hills. There was an ocean in her Realm but it wasn't easy to get to from where the Serians had chosen to live.

Wisp forgotten, he just stared out to sea, catching his breath, his mind going blank.

The gradient coloured stallion bobbed his head in amusement and agreement, understanding River's current state of mind.

His gaze wandered from his friend to the expanse of sand, stretching on for miles along the ocean's shore. A soft sigh escaped him, enjoying the feeling of being content in a place he visited so frequently.

It wasn't a place that any normal Red Sands serian would call home, but he found the place oddly comforting, as if he had been there before.

His noble, horned head lowered to graze the tip of his muzzle along the sand's surface, shifting the grains to form what looked like a smudge mark. So, like that he remained, head to the ground with his eyes opened only partially.

"YEEEEHAAAAW!!!!!!"

River pounced at Wisp, having noticed the other stallion settling into a kind of lethargic state. He couldn't resist sneaking up on him. Sand flew in all directions as the blue stallion danced away, then he stopped to grin, "Gotcha!"

His peaceful expression was replaced with a look of surprise as he tucked his hindquarters underneath him and skittered off to the side. A grin cracked his lips once he realized it was just River and spun around on his hind end to face him.

A sly look reflected in his eyes as he trotted over to lip at the other stallion's forelock, gently tugging it.

"Don't worry, I'll get my revenge," His grin widened as he carefully began to plot his friend's doom.

River grinned back, knowing full well that Wisp wouldn't be able to pull one over on him, oh no, not he! No one could trick River...uh huh.

Freeing his forelock from Wisp's tugs River began trotting up the beach. He wasn't sure where he was going but he was sure adventure was just over the horizon. He called back to the other stallion, "Come on, hurry up!"

Had he taken the time to notice, he would have found that the annoying voice in his head had been drowned out by the kind words of the other stallion and the sound of the ocean waves breaking upon the shore....

The stallion of sunset hue cantered to catch up with his new friend, and broke down to keep stride with him. The grin was still present, plastered on his face as he spoke again.

"So where to now?" Was asked boldly, his gaze wandered sideways to settle on River, "Or would you rather stay here and find a way to be entertained?"
