New Beginnings

A crimson silhouette stood at the crest of a small hill in the flat lands of Sionayra. With a flick of his flamed tail and a paw of his blazing hoof, he gazed out over the land he loved. A shadow-black out line on the still, murky sky moved closer to the silhouette, twitching his tail nervously, and the spikes along his tail faintly glowing with his white mane.

Shaking his shaggy flamed mane, he arched his neck and inhaled the fresh, clean air of morning as the sun peeked over the horizon gradually. It had been ages since he’d last stretched his legs. He glanced behind him at an uncomfortable-looking dark figure in the brightening sky before him.

“Rebel,” he sighed, his fierce flame-colored eyes softening. He nudged his only friend that he could remember gently and started his way down the hill to a forest line not too far away.

Rebel, seeing his only contact moving away from him, jumped into a trot and glanced around restlessly. As they neared the forest, WildFire peered at the shadowy figure by his side, “Ready Rebel?”

Rebel met his gaze steadily and nodded solemnly. He hadn’t been around any other Serians than WildFire in ages and wasn’t quite sure of himself without the comfort of dark shadows. His thick chain glowed in the steadily growing light of dawn.

A light breeze stirred the chilly spring air as WildFire let loose a shrill whistle to those nearby.

OOC| Welcome to the Fields! X3

BIC| Sign was trotting lightly along, not paying any attention to.. Well, much of anything, really. She was lost in her mind, restless and slightly skiddish. Her bonded and bond-mates had thought it might be best if she got out on her own for a bit. If she gave herself a true chance to think.

So it was she wound up where she was, startled out of her revere by a very sharp, piercing whistle. When she looked around it was to see two strange stallions standing just a few feet away.

Whisper's head snapped up at the sound of a whistle. The stunningly coloured mare had been dozing in the morning sun, not yet ready to wake up, but she was wide awake now. She glanced about the fields as the sun chased away the shadows of the night, until her gaze settled on two, no three equine forms in the distance. Sunlight glittered off one of them and her heart skipped a beat...could it be? She had resigned herself to never seeing her friend again, but no one else had a chain quite like that.

She wondered what had happened to him, or if he would even remember her. So it was in a slow, apprehensive walk that she approached the others.

OOC: if you wanted to see the thread where Whisper and Rebel met, but its ok if you want to change his personality and whatnot, after all we don't know what happened to him in his hiatus *g* ... c&start=20

[Ooc:] Thanks Songhue ;]
And thanks for the previous story/personality/and attitude of Rebel SunBlind -.^

WildFire turned to face the new Serian a few feet away. Catching Rebel’s eye, he took a deep breath and strode forward bravely, smiling. “Hi, I’m WildFire and this is Rebel.”

Rebel, who had unconsciously moved behind WildFire, peered around him and tried to smile. He took an anxious step into the open and murmured a quiet, “Hello.”

Turning his head to avoid eye-contact, Rebel caught sight of another Serian. Something in his mind clicked. He remembered, though faintly, that the other Serian was a friend of some sort, someone he knew. He and WildFire didn’t really remember anything of their past but certain things will trigger a small snippet of their memories. A huge grin spread over his face as he took a few tentative steps towards her.

Flicking her ears uncertainly and looking around showed that her walk had brought her to a very strange place indeed. Part of the Fields, for sure, but not a part she had ever been to before. Ah well..

"Uhm.. Hello. I'm Sign. It's rather nice to meet y'all. Do you always wander about at this early hour?"

It was settled; she was simply no good at small talk. XD

Whisper paused uncertain, as Rebel noticed her. She was close enough now to see the friendly grin, but it wasn't really one of full recognition, more like that of an acquaintance trying desperately to remember a name. What in the world *happened* to him?

She glanced over at the fiery red male. She'd never met him before, but he was obviously Rebel's friend. However he was busy with the other mare.

But Whisper being who she was couldn't run forever from a friend. She was very happy to see him again, and though she may have appeared hesitant, her happiness showed through her eyes. Perhaps they could continue their adventure where they left off? Or maybe start a new, even more exciting one! Her mind filled with possibilities she trotted over and said, "Hi!"
