Whirl was beginning to enjoy the company of the two newcomers. She liked the way the stallion – Vision – spoke, like knew exactly what the words to say. He acted like a real gentleman, not rude or arrogant. She was afraid he’d be like that, but she was happily mistaken. Her bright pink eyes again flicked up to his golden blindfold for a fleeting second. It was such a beautiful and elegant way to hide a disability – so fitting for him. And she found herself drawn to Nymph; she sensed a sort of kindred spirit in her. Like they both felt the same anxieties meeting new people, which made Whirl feel all the more comfortable, now that she learned she wasn’t quite the fish out of water she had believed herself to be.

They were together, but in what way? She doubted they were mates, the way they seemed to almost depend on each other made her think they were probably bond-siblings.

At the thought of yet more Serians joining their little party Whirl gulped but didn’t dwell on the possibility. Just keep thinking about the canyon…She began the phrase to repeat as they traveled, making it a mantra of sorts. The feeling of the soil churning beneath her hooves, she thought of that too.

And then they were there, and she didn’t have to keep her mind busy with anything else. The sight in front of her was beyond adjectives – the rainbows, the waterfalls, the crystals – it was all too much for description. All she could do was stand there, mouth open in awe.

She was pulled back by the sound of Sparkle’s voice, and she allowed herself to break the trance and turn towards him. “Sure! I mean, I'd love to play.” She chirped, looking at the clear water twisting nearby. On such a warm evening, it was inviting.

“And thank you,” she said. “This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been lucky enough to see.” She probably would have never seen it, if not for running into him.

The black mare's ears swiveled around, she heard the sound of pounding hooves in the distance, but knew it would be too far a distance to yell for help. She moved to position herself behind her bond-sister and bent her front legs so she could use her head to push on Silverflash's side. "On the count of three, ok." she said watching the mare with worried yellow eyes.

Silverflash nickered in response and took deep long breath now as she regained her wind. Her side's were now completely as dark as smoke grey from the exhaustion of running and the sudden fall. She wasn't hurt badly, though her right front leg hurt a bit from the sliding and landing of the jump.

"Here we go, one... Two... Three..." She pushed her noise into her silver friends side and leaned forward. At the same time gradually standing up again from her kneel. Once the mare was up she moved to her side, letting their bodies touch, "Lean on me if it hurts ok." she said turning her neck to face Silverflash. Her bright eyes shown with concern.

Once Silverflash was up on her feet again, she was glad she could lean on the black mare. She lifted her right leg and put it down, she knew she had probably bruised it. "Thanks," she said turning to Amber and nuzzling into her neck as a sign of their sister bond.

The two made their slow way to where Amber had heard the pounding hooves. The black mare was alert, her eyes scanned the area for any sign of movement. While her delicate eyes swiveled around hunting for the slightest sound. Her body was a little tense, in any case she was on guard and ready to protect her injured bond-sister.

Vision nodded in agreement with Sparkle's statement- the newcomers would have to catch up. As much as he loved company, his new host was not about to wait, and he was not about to wait for the new Serians without companions that were a bit more sociable than Nymph. Not that he couldn't create his own conversation, but he often found that his lack of sight put him at a bit of a disadvantage as far as starting a conversation was concerned.

Nymph stuck to Vision as if she were his shadow, hovering nervously by his side. She may have been a socially awkward mare, but she was far from being unobservant. Silently she watched her two companions and mused over their characteristics. Sparkle was a bit of an enigma for her- she was intrigued by his hesitance. He gave off the impression that he was a confident young stallion for the most part, but there were the odd moments when he seemed somewhat... confused. As if he weren't comfortable in his own skin. Whirl, however, was a different story. She felt familiar with the mare, like they shared the same social predicament. Although, admittedly, Whirl was far better at hiding it and adapting to her surroundings than she was.

Vision too spent a few moments in thoughtful scrutiny of his cohorts. He felt Whirl's eyes on him, and assumed that she was examining his blindfold. He was used to it by now, and he smiled gently in what he assumed was her general direction. He hoped she wasn't unnerved by the fact that he had felt her watching him. With a laugh, he stomped a hoof, making his gold bracelet jangle slightly. Gold is my only weakness, he said with a chuckle and a bright genuine smile. Nymph smiled as well, despite herself. Leave it to Vision to try to jest about his blindfold. Vision too noted the way the stallion seemed particularly uncomfortable, and wondered after it. Perhaps he'd be able to get the information out of him later on and give him some assistance with whatever seemed to be bothering him.

Vision could feel the temperature change as they approached the canyon. Aside from that, it was the only noticeable change in atmosphere. The echoes confused him, and he wasn't sure what to do. He heard Nymph's sharp intake of breath at his side, and assumed that it must have been quite the sight indeed. He smiled, albeit a bit wryly. It must be beautiful, he said, musing aloud, or else Miss Nymph here would not be so entranced. I thank you Sparkle. It takes quite a bit to get this sort of reaction out of my young friend.

Nymph shot him a look, but nodded none the less.Thank you. It truly is amazing, she replied, finally finding her voice and nodding again in agreement with Whirl. When Sparkle suggested a game, both Vision and Nymph's ears perked up. Vision tossed Nymph a devilish grin and whinnied aloud, as if to get his bearings. The canyon echoed all around him, projecting the vibrations back at him. It were as if he could almost visualize the canyon, in his own way. His ears twitched at the sound of running water coming from the streams ahead. Without so much as a warning, he ploughed headlong in the direction of the stream with a loud and not so gentleman-like whoop of delight. Nymph made a little neigh of distress, and galloped after him in response, more concerned over his well being than she was in reaching the water first.

Sparkle was slightly surprised as the others perked at the thought of a game, though he couldn't help but laugh as Vision plunged into the stream.

I guess it's time to see just how much fun is left in me.
Snorting, he flicked his tail at Whirl and offered a reassuring grin, trotting easily after the other two. So many differences already.. There was no wink, no whinny of excitment, no dashing recklessly into the twin falls.

He entered the water with more caution than he normally would have shown, careful not to slip on the mud and smooth stones that pebbled the bed. After that, however, he did play and for a moment almost felt.. Normal.

Laughing, he spun about and drug up as much water as he could, surrounding himself in glittering droplets that reflected the prysms of the canyon. He reared as he made a full circle and let his front hooves come crashing down into the stream with a booming splash, aiming for the closest Serian and soaking himself in the process.

She was shaken by Vision’s astute observations, and embarrassed too. Had she really been that obvious? She immediately blushed and stared at her hooves, but thank god he seemed to take it in stride. Obviously he was used to it. “Then you’re stronger than most people, I think,” she joked, weak at the knees with relief. His smile seemed true enough; it didn’t seem she misstepped too badly.

Vision. That was an odd name for him. Was that what people referred to as irony? She didn’t know, but then…maybe it wasn’t meant to be taken so literally. Or maybe it was, as some sort of cruel cosmic joke. No matter the origin, it was sad he couldn’t see the amazing landscape before them.

She twitched her tail and quickly turned her thoughts to happier things. Like the way the setting sun lit up the crystals so they seemed to be burning – so vibrantly red against the white, churning waterfalls.

Water, yes! They were going to play a game in the water! She watched with growing glee as Vision shed his aristocratic shell and ran full out to the streams, with a nervous Nymph right behind. She trailed behind them, not completely sure what to do, but at the reassurance of Sparkle she began to lope to catch up with them, for once not in too much of a hurry. The echo of their hooves was enough to put her into a trance.

But then she was in the water – not pausing for an instant, but instead rushing in – once again throwing caution to the wind. The water came up nearly to her knees and it was wonderful. And then she was rearing, raising her hooves as high as she could, and brought them down hard, spraying water everywhere. Out of her mouth came a loud whinny of pure delight. Until she was splashed by Splash: then she started to cough, but was still able to kick up her hindquarters, hopefully getting him just as wet.

Amber harks perked forward, she could now make out whinnies and echos of what she was sure was pounding hooves. She lifted her head high into the breeze, she defiantly smelled other serians and the one smell she was overjoyed to smell. Her star bright yellow eyes light up a bit so that they reflected concern and happiness switching every few seconds. She turned her head to the silver mare, "Are you sure you are ok, I can slow down?" she asked looking down at the other mare's right front leg. She analyzed it, and let a small inaudible sigh of relief escape her, the leg looked ok, just a bit sore from how her friend was walking on it. "Also, if you haven't picked up on it, Sparkle is up further and so are some others," she said, her voice going up as she mentioned her mate.

Silverflash noticed how her bond-sister was acting and was embarrassed. She did not want to be a bother and ruin her fun. She tossed her forelock, hoping it would hide her emotion and was surprised when Amber analyzed her leg. "Yes, I am fine," she said which was the truth now, it hardly hurt, there was just a bit of a throbbing now. Just as the black mare told her about the others, she picked up on the smell and sounds. She steadied her weight on her feet again and with a smile as she tossed her silver crown, she burst into a gallop. She did this more from embarrassment, not because she wanted to meet the others, she wasn't to sure of herself right now. Silverflash knew one thing, if she was running then the annoying emotions would stay away for the moment.

The mare kept running, as she did, she only looked at the sky. She did not realize that before she knew it, the grassy meadow was gone and she was surrounded my giant walls of rock. She only skidded to a stop as the sounds and smells grew to strong for her to ignore. She saw the four serians, they were to close for her liking. She had done it again, created a big entrance. Drawing lots of attention that she did not want. She recognized the blue stallion and was glad at least she would know two serians here. She slammed on the breaks in her fright and embarrassment/slyness, though she failed to notice the ground was slick with water. She skidded a few feet before ending at the waters edge, which her right leg decided to start throbbing badly and gave way. She ended up on her stomach with her front leg out in front of her. She took a deep breath, now she was completely embarrassed and was in some pain again. She looked down, allowing her star lit mane to hide her face, as she tried to think of what to say, but her mind was a giant jumble, as well as her words disappeared with her voice.

Amber stared after her in shock, "Silverflash! Get back here! You shouldn't be running so soon after that fall!" she yelled, her voice full of worry. Her eyes dimmed as she shot after the younger filly. She stretched out as much as she good to gain ground and catch her friend. "Shoot, she is faster than she lets on," she mumbled to herself. Amber was gaining on the left flank of Silverflash when she spotted the whole a few feet in front of her. She swerved on a dime and came to halt parallel to the whole.
