First Night Out [[Open To All :)]]

It was her first time away from home, and it was just as SaphireSpin had described it to her.

The stars sparkled across the dark banner overhead, the large sphere in the distance the only light illuminating their path. SaphireSpin lead the way through the densely collected forest, weaving an intricate pattern toward the clear field only a few more steps away. The long grass waved in the cool night breeze, welcoming them to it's depths.

Crisp air swept up the younger mare's mane, purple strands scattering across her neck and face to hide the enticing features. The follower was leaner in all aspects, her face would be unknown to those who were more accustomed to the lands. Her curly hair cascaded over her body like a waterfall, the shells around the dock of her tail only adding to the illusion.

Bayou had remained silent for a bulk of the trip, feeling a certain drag in the air between them. SaphireSpin had done the same, but for different reasons.
This was a healing time for her, even Bayou could sense it.

The black stallion stood in the center of the field proudly, the wind catching his pink mane and tail. Just standing, smelling, being - there was no other feeling like it in the world.

The wind teased his forelock, flopped it over one eye, and playfully he shook it back. He was in a decent mood for once, and he was determined to learn how to keep it that way.

The vague rustling of grass behind him made him whirl around, excited for someone to meet. And instead, there was a stranger and possibly the most familiar Serian to him around.

"Hello Saphire."

And then the one person who probably understood her the most, understood the very essence of that which was SaphireSpin, stood before her. She felt like she should... feel something; like she should be excited.

A faltering grin was all she could muster, even that took a lot of digging. Searching through all the clouded misery and lonliness. She bowed her head to her brother, allowing a wave of hair to momentarily fall over her head only to be brushed back again. He was very different from their last meeting, she could tell that much. Stice had been a lot more flirtacious, more outgoing. At least that was how she remembered him.

Then again, they had both grown from the unruely foals they had once been.

No longer the gangly filly, the well-muscled mare moved toward her brother. She laid her head against his shoulder.

And she cried.

Silent droplets leaked from the glittering red orbs she had inherited from her father, as she silently confessed every single sin and mistake she had made in his absence.

The so called stranger hung back, a warm smile lingering across her lips. This was what her friend had been searching for, a support. Someone she knew. Bayou remained quiet while Saphire trembled, observing the unique bond between siblings.

From the moment he saw her, Stice knew that something was very wrong with his sister, and he cursed himself for not being here when she needed him.

And then she cried, and he turned his head in a hug, holding his sister as close to him as possible, letting her tears show him everything he had missed.

He hummed a little, trying to relax her, to show her he wasn't leaving again any time soon.

And he barely noticed the pretty little mare hanging back and observing the scene with interest. Saphire was his other half, and never again would he let her be hurt.

The tears gradually came to a stop and the slightly built mare pulled away. She smiled at him, her eyes appeared only a little more red then normal from their previous activity.

"Stice. Long time no see," Saphire declared with a small amount of enthusiasm. A weight had been lifted off her shoulders and she discovered that through all the unnessesary grieving and depression, all she had needed to do was cry and she would feel a bit better. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Bayou shifted in her spot, a fair distance away from the other two. She didn't mind being out of the loop for the time, she could tell this was needed.

That was when Saphire remembered her friend. She whirled around to smile down at Bayou, and began the introduction.

"Bayou, this is my brother, Summer Solstice. Stice, this is Bayou."

The stallion noticed his sister was calmer as she pulled away, less downtrodden and slightly more excited at the sight of him. Everything in him was telling him to jump on her like the colt he had been, to go chasing after butterflies and roll in mud with her. But he'd grown up, and quite clearly so had she.

So Stice smiled instead. "Mmm. Just needed to get away from this place for a while. But I'm glad I came back."

And then she introduced the tiny thin mare behind her. Pretty little thing, but Stice had long since learned to control himself.

Instead he nodded his head, a hint of his old self glittering behind his eyes. "A pleasure to meet you, Bayou. I hope you've taken good care of my sister."
