ooc| Just getting back into the swing of things for the summer, since starting today I should be more active. :)

ic| Irrational anger washed over her as she stormed through the lands, dark red hooves galloping in between bushes and trees to carry the young mare to a place where she could think, any place far from there. Dark patches of sweat bled out to darken her aqua coat and cause dark purple hair to become sticky and mat onto her.

She ran until her legs began to ache, and one awkward step to avoid a small tree caused them to crumple beneath her, and sent the sweating ball of frustration crashing to the ground. She landed and lay still after the loud thud announced the ending of her descent, breathing hard. A rainbow of bruises had long since bloomed over her skin, revealing the vigorous training she had recently put herself through.

"Please!" She had begged him, "Make me stronger!"
So that these scars may be easier to bear.

Nostrils flared as she stared into the distance, examining the path she would still be on had she not literally driven herself into the ground. Her father had always told her never to run from her problems, but she was sick of problems. She was sick of life being so hard to live. Could nothing just be simple?

Scry had not taken it easy on her while helping her to release her anger, his winds had battered her almost as hard as his hooves had. He was no warrior, but he still managed to smack her around pretty good.

As she lay there enjoying the silence and isolation, she began realizing that it would not last for long since she had fallen into popular territory in the Fields. She groaned and squeezed her eyes shut, not looking forward to having to get up.

ooc| can i join you? :P

Birdsong, the chatter of squirrels, the minuscule snaps of pine needles underhoof, wind through the leaves on the ground and above. Shamrock lost himself in daydreams as he wandered idly. Socialize, he muttered to himself. He snorted and shook his neck, flopping his short spikey mane from side to side in an almost disdainful way. Do me good, Hmmmph! Since when did he have to go out looking for company anyway? His bonded sure had a lot of nerve sending him out like this!

Beneath the rhythm of the forest was a tension that not many would notice. The woods quieted ever so subtly but the green stallion barely noticed, so busy was he in his own thoughts. Until he heard a loud racket back somewhere behind him, unlike anything else he’d heard in the forest before…

And suddenly the pandemonium heightened to a loud crashing and abruptly halted. The lime stallion followed suit with a halt, puzzling over the noise then before toward the commotion. His steps were slow, searching in the direction of the noise he’d heard with his nose lowered to snuffle at the brush and ears searching earnestly for more sounds.

He had no idea what it was he expected to find, so when he reached this other serian he nearly stumbled into her before he realized she was there. When emerald eyes alighted on the aqua mare piled in a heap they widened in astonishment. Caught off guard he was, though he visibly started once he finally realized he was staring.

If her bruises surprised him he did not show it as he looked her over quickly for sign of hurt or reason for her apparent fall. He let his breath out – he hadn’t realized he’d been holding it – in a small snort, glad to have his mask back in place. He hated how readable he was when he didn’t guard his expression. Keeping his nose lowered still, he looked at the mare face to face and whickered to her quietly, unsure.

"Are you hurt, lass? I mean no intrusion, surely…" He trailed off and looked around quickly, wondering exactly how far he’d wandered. Green skin twitched in irritation at his wandering mind and his dreaming. "I’m Shamrock, by the way. Was that you makin' all the fireworks?"

ooc| Sure :) Anyone's welcome to join at any time.

bic| The silence was shattered the moment he released his breath, and the ruby eyes she had inherited from her father snapped open and without hesitation began examining him. It didn't take her long to realize he was guarded, the way his face had changed tipped her off pretty easily. She smiled. Had he been broken, too?

Was she hurt? Ha! She was Humpty Dumpty, she had sat on a wall and had a great fall. Although, she was put back together again. Only to wish she wasn't.

The way his words amused her became apparent in the grin that cracked her lips when she pushed herself up into a sitting position. Eyes moved from him to the ground, examining the skid marks she had left in the dirt.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking," Slender head was bowed in greeting, locks of purple hair momentarily falling over her face, "SaphireSpin... Saphire for short, please."

When her face was raised again she looked him straight in the eyes. Pupils narrowed slightly as she tried to figure him out. Fire... That word almost seemed to follow her around. Then, forgetting the polite manner from seconds earlier, she spoke again.

"Yes, that was me. You don't come here often, do you? I'm probably wrong... but you seem nervous."

Shamrock couldn’t help but stare as his emerald eyes met her ruby ones, amazed at the fire he saw smoldering there. Ears pricked at her smile, though it seemed bittersweet. As she moved to sit up he backed away to give her room.

Following her gaze, he spied the marks as well and a chuckle escaped him before he even thought about it. A sheepish grin lit his features and he nodded his head back to her in a formal manner. “Pleased to meet you Saphire.” He backed another step at her penetrating gaze, thinking back to his tricks and checking that none had been played on her…

He shook his head to clear it, then started slightly at her assessment. And with his surprise, there went the mask again. “Uhh, no I’m not… No. This is my first time out and about alone in this area. I'm guessing you're familiar with it?”

He turned the spotlight from himself again, nodding in the direction she’d come from. “I hope there wasn’t something dangerous you were running from.” For someone running full speed through the brush, she certainly appeared unconcerned enought now. He stopped himself from asking again if she were okay and left it there, reluctant to pry.

“Are we still in the fields? I’ve been wandering for some time. Should’ve paid more attention. I was told I should meet other serians and that that was the place to do so, but it’s been pretty quiet. Well, until you showed up, that is…” He smirked and switched his tail, hoping she wouldn’t mind.

She caught what she could only describe as mesmerizement in his look when she opened her eyes, and smothered her soft laughter with a warm smile. She sighed happily and shrugged her shoulders before taking the last few movements into a standing position. Then quite promptly, she shook like a dog.

Particles of dirt floated from her coat and seemed to linger around her for a moment before settling back to the earth. She took a moment to tame her tussled hair before returning her attention to him.

"Born and raised. I better be." Recalling her younger days brought a smile back, until more recent memories came to mind. She seemed to float flawlessly from day dreaming back to composure, smiling at the green stallion once more.

For a moment she became sarcastic and cocky, puffing her chest out and raising her head high in a stance of dignity, "I like to make an entrance," and it took her seconds to deflate again, laughing softly and shaking her head. "I think I hang around too many hot-headed stallions. You're a nice change."

"We're still in the Fields. It's quite large, it would take a while to leave it completely." She found it hard to be blunt and fiery around this one, maybe with time. "Darlin', things are hardly ever quiet when I come around," She grinned again and rolled her eyes. Saphire couldn't quite tell why she was acting this way. Had she truely changed to the point where she couldn't even recognize herself? Is this who she was supposed to be? The puzzlement would momentarily burn behind her eyes, then slowly fade away, once again pushed beneath the surface.

It seems they both having something to hide, maybe she should just let sleeping dogs lie.

He snorted as she shook herself all out, getting the dust out of his nose. He waited for her to get herself all settled, glad he had no mane to really get in his way. And for no particular reason he let his dignified face fall away, sternness leaving his features as he pranced in place a few times while he waited. It felt good to be silly, and he thought it no use to hide it. His coltishness would catch up to him anyway.

The expressions flowing so fluidly across her face left him with little to go on in his attempt to figure her out; emotions were scarcely there before they were gone. He cocked his head at her show and snorted again, more quietly, at her assessment of him. Yes, I'll bet I'm a change alright, was his dry thought. At least I might help take her mind off of whatever it is that's bothering her.

He shook out his mane again, not quite knowing what to do with her antics. Any other stallion would no doubt have a fiery answer to shoot right back at her, but he simply puzzled as he watched her emotions spread across her face once more in a succession. At times she seemed so lost, but then all of a sudden she'd be so full of herself he didn't know what to do with her.

So he made a big show of scoffing and shaking his head. "And here I thought there was nothing interesting in these Fields. Were you on your way somewhere or shall we find some more noise to make? Surely I should learn more about this ‘making an entrance’ business.”
