Fleet glanced down at the beautiful mare next to him. His gaze softened. He had always been shy, but around her, it was like his mind was an open book, he could tell her anything at anytime. He watched as she relaxed, and in turn he relaxed to, listening to her rhythimic breathing.

After a long moment, he asked softly in her ear, "What brought you here?"

"The thought of you."

She replied calmly, her eyes didn't open. She flicked the gold band that contained her tail, red strands poking out from the end. The gem on her shoulder had no purpose, but she was fond of the black lines coming from the corners. She nuzzled him, her ears perking.

"What?" he asked, noticing her perked ears. Did she hear something, or did she want something? Frankly, he was hoping it was the latter, as he would dearly give anything to her without hesitation.

"Hm? Nothing. Just happy." She smiled, nuzzling him again.

For the first time in a long time, she felt at ease, that nothing horrible could come to her any longer. She finally felt... Safe.

"Just happy..." Fleet wondered about those words, and felt them right then. Right now, with her. He would do anything to protect Satin, even if it meant torture.

"Would you like to go for a walk?"

"Of course!" She grinned, touching the tip of her muzzle to his shoulder, as if making sure that she would be going on the walk with him and not by herself.
