She flipped her mane, her forelock falling to the side of her face. She narrowed her eyes, ears flicking back.

"Yes. Your demise will be the result." She snapped, clearly easy to work up.

His smile grew crooked in the wind. "Then I face my death, as a fighter does. Then maybe I'll find rest from this craphole."

He trotted to the edge of the snowy wountain, near the craggy outcropping, where the wind whipped pure viscious. He smiled as he glanced down the broken chasm. Avalir had jumped once, but Sive had saved him. He had no one. Even his angel had abandoned him.

He glanced back at Saphire, still wearing that semi-frantic smile. "Shall I make your wish come true then, firebrand?"

"If you want to find someplace warm, then yes. Seeing that is all I wish for at the moment." She followed him, staying a good distance away.

"I'd rather kill you when the cold isn't freezing me from the outside in."

Her body was constantly shivering now, eyes darting around them, looking for some sort of covered area.

Hinote rolled his eyes. "Why did you come up here if you were going to freeze your tail off?"

He trotted away from the outcropping and near to the young mare. His eyes scanned the mountain for a shadow of a cave he had passed earlier. There, up that pass, they'd have to trudge through snow, but it would cause no end of trouble if daddy's girl died up here and he didn't do anything to help.

He pushed close to her, herding her toward the pass. "There's a cave up there, you can stay there till the storm blows off. If you need to keep warm, stay close."

"The storm wasn't here when I came." She mumbled, watching him curiously. Her skin flinched when he touched her, glancing at his eyes.

"What about you? I wont be able to do a thing if you freeze out here, as well." She stayed close, but tried not to make it obvious that it was against her will.

He gave her a wry look. "I'm not as weak as you. This cold does hardly anything to me."

He moved quickly toward the pass, not really caring if she shrank from his touch. It was for her own sake, he was doing everything he could to keep her from freezing. If she wanted to reject his help, well, that was her own choice.
