Pixie sighed in relief, well at least she was willing to listen. He told her about how he had played with females hearts, he told her about how he knew it was wrong but it was like nature to him and he hadn't even known it was happening, he told her how he had struggled to control his flirting and keep it to a minumum without going to far, and mostly he told her about how he didn't do it anymore and he considered Path his one and only and if he ever did accidentaly flirt he didn't mean it and to please be patient with him. "I may not be perfect, but I'm working on it." He finished with a sigh, he just hopped she still wanted a life with him.

So flirting was his big secret. Well, what male didn't go through and infatuation with the ladies at some point in time? She would have to keep in mind that he could slip now and then, but he was at least willing to be hers alone. But still, she felt there was more....some other piece of who he was that he hadn't shared yet.

"There's something else," she murmured, and felt her chest tighten that he should try and keep it from her. "There's something else about you that's different, but you're not telling me. I don't want any secrets Pixie; if I can't even trust you, how am I supposed to spend my life with you?"

Shaking her head, she turned her face away to hide the tears that threatend her sky blue mian flowing softly around her face as she tried to compose herself. Yes, it hurt like a thorn in the nose, but at least she knew now instead of after years of investing her heart in this stallion.

"I don't care that you flirted before," Path whispered, her voice suddenly quivering weakly as she blinked furiously at her tears. "I don't care what you did before. I'm just glad you want to be mine. But I can't stand you hiding something from me, not when I've been so open with you." Shaking her head, she snorted and stomped her hoof, turning her back to him, forcing herself to be strong and not give in. All she wanted was the truth; it shouldn't be this hard.

Angry that he should hold back, and furious with her tears, she kicked out sideways, obliterating an old, rotting log that had fallen close by, releasing some of her tension while she was at it. Goddamnit, it shouldn't be this hard! She shouldn't be made vunerable only to have this happen! This wasn't right, but it wasn't unexpected either. There were many stories where the maiden ran off with a traveling singer only to have him abandon her when she grew heavy with child. Path had simply hoped that Pixie would be the one who gave her laughter and a home filled with small feet instead. It seemed that that hope had been too much.

If she couldn't trust him then she had no business being with him. She'd told him nearly all there was to her, only forgetting about her rivalry with Sparkle because she'd been so happy. How could she have been so happy in such a short amount of time? Because she'd felt something about him, felt at home when he looked at her and desire when she looked at him. Now she just felt betrayed. She wanted to badly to be with him, to have his foals, but he wasn't letting her. It'd be best to leave now, while neither of them had said thing's they'd regret later. Her whole body quivering, Path turned back the way they'd come, praying that he'd come after her and try and save what they'd started together, determined that she wouldn't cry when he didn't.

Taking a minute to breath deeply to keep from passing out from the sudden rush of blood to his brain he thought of how many times his little secret had gotten him in trouble. How and why could she tell that there was something more to him? "Well you see... the thing is, is that generally when people find out about what there is to me they either get creeped out by it and leave or they use me and wont leave me alone." He annoyingly flicked his tale at a fly buzzing around his wings. That was one of his pet peeves... insects on his wings. "You see" he began but didn't know quite how to tell her.

He thought for a few minutes but knew that Path was probably getting very annoyed by his silence. Well fine he decided, I'll just come out and tell her and if she didn't except him then that was her problem and he didn't need her... but that was just the problem. He did need her, he needed her desperatly, deeply, and passionatly. He had gotten over another mare that had rejected him but he knew deep down in his soul that getting over Path wouldn't be nearly as easy as the others had been.

"Ok, well the thing is... I'm an elemental." Well it was out and there was no use trying to turn back now. He didn't think he should have to be ashamed about this gift but judging by how others had reacted to him, it had made him, not ashamed exactly... embarrassed.

Her whole body whent stiff when he stared talking, and it was very nearly shaking when he finished. So that was the power she'd felt. She didn't think that he'd worried she'd react the way others had, but that he'd feared she would, and that he hadn't wanted to lose her because of it. It was sweet really, but he'd given her a bad scare. She was half tempted to chew him out for that, and half tempted to hold him and tell him it was all right. So she decided for a compromise.

"How could you think I'd run from you?" She asked, turning back to press her cheek agianst his neck. It felt so good to be this close to him. "How could you be so stupid? Honestly, this is amazing. I should knock on your head to try and get some since into it."

She stepped closer still, her lecture done, and gently nipped at his shoulder, quivering with delight as she realized that she now had a mate. And oh, how she did love him. "Will you show me what you can do? I'm curious about this elemental stuff. I want to understand everything there is to you."

Her piece said, she nuzzled his shoulder, feeling slightly wrung out from her emotional roller coaster and not minding in the least. She'd have to go home after this, take time to pull herself together, to let it soak in.....She had a mate. Pixie was her mate. She still felt slightly numb from shock.

Pixie let out a deep sigh of relief. He hadn't really expected her to react badly.. well see that was the thing, he didn't know how she would react. He knew that she was kind and gentle but so others had seemed like it, and then viciously turned on him, but then again he had never felt so close to anyone else in his life as he now did to Path. Comming right down to it, he figured that he was just plain scared. Scared that there was always that slight chance that she would have rejected him and that he'd have to live his life without her. But now, she had accepted him and she was his mate... it took a second for that one to sink in... mate.

Grinning he decided that his powers were just as easily shown as told. So he stood grudgingly breaking his neck away from her warm cheek. It felt so good against him but he was sure there'd be time for this later. "Well the powers aren't easily defined and I'm afraid that there not much use unless its battle time. But there's one thing that I love to do that I can easily show you." He stood perfectly still and concentraited on all the smells and feelings around him. He felt the warm breeze tickling over his wings and back, the sun resting on his face and making his soul feel warm. But most importantly he concentrated on becoming one with the earth. He started gently pulling and pulling the air, the trees and their fallen leaves.

He opened his eyes when he could feel the breeze becoming stronger and more directioned. He saw the leaves move with the breeze and the trees swaying in the wind, loosing more leaves to join in the dancing breeze. But most importantly he saw the breeze was playing, gently tugging with Path's main and he had never seen anything more beautiful. And with that... he began to dance in the same rythem as the wind, hopeing... praying, that Path would join in the dance and they could be one.

Power over nature. She didn't know what she'd expected, but it hadn't been this. Smiling as the wind played with her mian, Path pulled back, almost rearing on her hind legs, and twisted around, moving with the wind and landing with her back hooves lifting gracfully. She's seem him moving as if in dance and it'd made it so she couldn't fight the itch any longer. Closing her eyes, she moved with his power and lost herself. This was quite some day.
