Without out her noticing her nice canter was swiftly during into a gallop. She can conflicting emotions inside her which made it hard to control her speed. Her heart told her go for it, it will be her love, the other side was slow down a bit you will scare the living daylights out of whom ever is through the trees in the other meadow. She tossed her head again, her heart was pounding so fast that she no longer could tell by sound at what speed she was traveling, only how fast the tree line approached.

She gave up and her heart won. Amber only slowed a little as she entered the tree line. Zipping in and out of trees, bushes and fallen logs, the mare soon saw the brightness of a new clearing ahead. Amber was laughing inside herself, she was acting like a love stuck filly, when she was now a more mature mare.

The last few strides to the new meadow felt like ever and with her heart pounding and she slowed a little. She shifted her weight to her back legs and jumped from a few feet in the treeline into the bright white meadow.

Bad move, the darkness of the snow covered trees in the forest patch and then dashing into a sun bright white field had left her momentarily blind. She looked around and basically only say a yellow light everywhere. Nice going she thought, but her heart was still pounding. She was sure whomever was there could hear it.

Sparkle trotted through the trees, his ears twitching as the sound of hooves became louder and louder. With every stop he settled deeper and deeper into the mentality that any company would be welcome, methodically forcing his heart into the back corner. He hoped for her, longed for her, but he wouldn't allow himself to be disappointed if he saw another face.

The sound of another running was near thunderous now, a fact that made him smile a little. Whoever it was, they must be having a ball tearing through these woods.

The trees were thinning, so he slowed his own step, letting out a snort as the madly dashing hooves quite suddenly stopped. Walking slowly, easing from one shade of tree-darkness to another, Sparkle found himself walking out onto a brilliant field, his eyes dancing at the sight of so much reflected light. The trees may be his home, but his passion lay in the light.

His eyes adjusted almost instantly as he took a moment to admire the gleaming earth under his hooves, a smile fixed on his muzzle as he lifted his gaze to look around. The stark black mare with her vivid storm markings made his heart skip.

"Amber! Amber, it's you, it's really you!"

And just like that, he was a love-sick colt all over again, tearing across the open field with a shrill, giggling whinny to tackle his beloved mare.

Amber's heart skipped more than one beat at the voice she heard. She felt a ripple of joy and shock run down her spine. "Yes, it is my Sparkle!." Her voice was filled with love and joy. She tossed her head and waited for him, since it was only now after too many to count blinks that she was able to see the world around her and not a just a yellow light.

She burst into a gallop towards the dark blue stallion crested in sunlight. Though she did not move as fast as she could since her vision was not 100% back yet. "Sparkle! I can't believe it is you!"

He reared as they neared each other, prancing around her and nipping at her forelock. Snorting happily, he landed amid a flurry of snow, nuzzling into her neck and looking down at her with eyes that were soft with affection.

"Gods, how you've been missed."

She was his rock, his whole world, and he loved nothing more than being with her. She was the one who had stayed with him through it all, the only one outside his family to do so. His friend, his confidant, his playmate and lover, the day was always hollow unless she was nearby.

Smirking in a characteristically playful manner, he lowered his head and gave her a stunningly passionate kiss, nipping at her ear good naturedly as he pulled away and kicked up another snow cloud to watch the glimmering flakes dance onto her mane.

Amber watched him with so much affection and love in her eyes. She felt like she was in heaven at his touch. She nickered happily as he pranced around her. When she was not around Sparkle, she felt like their was a defense she put up and storm cloud which would protect her if she needed, but when ever her mate was around the sun shown through the clouds. Amber felt a loose as water.

Her heart skipped a few beats as he kissed her. She closed her eyes as the snow cloud he created sent white glimmering particles onto her. Once they had settled it was her turn to show her affection. She pranced over to his side and nuzzled his warm neck and returned his kiss with just as much passion as his held.

Amber pulled back and took a few side steps and rested her neck on his back and looked at him.

"Words can not describe how much I was missed you."

He felt he should melt into a puddle as she kissed him, a happy sigh slipping out as he gazed at her head resting on his back. Smiling, he nuzzled into her mane, nickering absently. His beautiful, beloved mare. There was nothing he wouldn't do for her.

A hundred questions crashed through his head, his urge to make sure she was truly alright kicking into high gear as it normally did whenever she was near. Had she enjoyed the beginning of winter? Were things well with her bonded family? Had she seen any of their circle mates, or was she enjoying any new hobbies? He wanted to know everything, as if he'd been there as well, simply because he wished he had been.

"Are you well, love? Have the days been sweet?"

It was the best place to start, and possibly summarized everything he wanted to ask. Resting his chin between her shoulders, he closed his eyes and let himself feel the warmth of her body against his. Such a familiar sensation by now.

All the sparkling snow diamonds in existence couldn't make up for this simple moment. His passion lay in light and the way it danced with other elements, but his heart, his life, was this mare.

His hooves were getting cold, though, and he found himself wondering how she would look charging through the snow drifts or flopping down and leaving her outline in the soft powder. The bright ground only made her dark storm hide spark all the more, a stark contrast that he had to admire.
