"The hunt's good this year," Kovu, agreed, giving the hatchlings a stern look, "But it won't always be. You have to learn to share side by side. If you don't you'll only make things worse for everyone."

Then he took a bite himself, working the meat down his throught and feeling it settle warmly in his belly. "Now be nice and behave or I'll have to get upset. How well we live depends on everyone."

Kima nodded."Maybe we shall teach them how to fly after were finished?" Kima thought of how the albino was apparently aggresive towards others and he would probaly end up becoming wild like she was.

"No," he said, shaking his head with a sigh. He wanted to teach them the joy of the skies, and more than anything, wanted to see how they reacted the first time they caught a good air current. But he still shook his head, and said no.

"After they're full they're going to be weighed down by their food. It's not a good idea for them to try thier first flight on full stomachs, since many with years of experience still have trouble compensating the extra weight that doesn't sit where they're used to it being. I don't want one of them falling."

He looked at the remnants of the meal and, sighing, took the bones to an area near their cave that was nothing more than scorched rock to get rid of them. Dragons were very neat, they didn't just leave their leftovers laying around. They torched the bones and sinews, and then breathed them to the trees on a breath of smoke so the plants could feed off of them. The healthier the plants, the healthier the prey. And the healthier his family.

He couldn't help but grin at Kima's eagerness. If she was going to fly below them then that'd help with safety but that left the essential teaching for him. And to be honest, he loved it.

Pushing off with his powerful legs, he quickly gained altitude until he was positioned so he could easily see everyone below him. His voice was deep and naturally loud so he didn't have to shout above the winds that carried them.

"Go with the currents," Kovu instructed, "let them carry you up. Be careful not to bank too sharply or you'll fall out of it. Use the air to rest your wings."

With these, and a few other pointers, the hatchlings were soon flying as well as could be expected. The one that looked like him, the female, tottered for a moment, and then righted herself with a long snort of flame. She wouldn't be defeated; she'd get this down. He'd have to give her name that reflected her determination; it was a large part of who she was.

Sureck, he thought with a good deal of satisfaction. It meant small mountain in the lost language and it was definatly one to consider. Her fiery determination did indeed resemble a small mountain to him. He'd have to talk to Kima about it.

Kima watched as the young ones flew. She decided she could leave them now since they got the hang of it now it was time to show off. She flew as fast as she could speeding ahead of them and looped around doing certain tryicky twists that even Kovu couldnt do. She had been taught these things while she was young she had met another female dragon that had taught her these things but she said never teach anyone exept for females these tricks. It was somthing only the females shared and she would one day teach her daughter how to do these tricks and manuvers. SKima flew up high higher than usual turning into a tiny speck to the young one's eyes. Once she was done she spun down in a tight wind very quickly. The young dragons 'ooed' and 'awed' at their mother.
