Strolling for Stories

OOC| This wasn't Intended as a self RP, but as I miss simply writing in the conext this place offers I figured that it can become that if nobody replies. That is, of course, always open to being interrupted.

BIC| She was sitting under a willow in the shade of a mountain, a small stream winding around the base of root and earth as the winds sang in her ears. For some reason Songhue had found herself coming to this land frequently as of late, something that was peculiar for her. Normally she stayed away, allowing her bondeds their space.

She was almost feeling hopeful as she sat in the welcoming arms of the willow's roots, casually weaving material together to create yarn and string. The winds were singing clearly to her, making her smile slightly as she got carried away by the music, quietly singing along.

"Heaven today is but a way
To a place I once called home
Heart of a child, one final sigh
As another love goes cold

Once my heart beat to the rhythm of the falling snow
Blackened below, the river now flows
A stream of molten virgin snow

For the heart I'll never have
For the child forever gone
The music flows, because it longs
For the heart I once had

Living today without a way
To understand the weight of the world
Faded and torn, old and forlorn
My weak and hoping heart"

So she sang and wove and smiled as the breeze played with her hair. It was a lovely moment, there was no denying that.. Yet her eyes never smiled. Her eyes remained distant and painful, tired. And although she didn't realize it, hers were not the only eyes.

Sign stood in the shade nearby, ears flicking idly as the gentle, lilting song carried to her. The others hadn't been seen in some time; it was just her and her bonded, at least for now. She had to admit to herself that she loved every precious moment with West, yet what time he wasn't beside her was spent in this way - making sure that her bonded had someone to look over her, as well.

Songhue had finished weaving her yarn by the time her little song finished and had started knitting. She didn't use actual needles, didn't even use sticks; merely wove the fabric toghether with her hands again, carefully creating some small garment.

There was no telling what it might be, actually. She had grown quite a long since she had first come to this land. She was no longer so frail looking, no longer had silver hair and a peach toga for that matter. She was dressed in a gown woven from the wind itself, a crown now shining in the dainty light. What someone such as her would do with a midnight purple garment was anyone's guess.

"This used to be my playground
This used to be my pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy

This used to be my playground
This used to be my child-hood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
I wish you were standing here with me.."

She hummed without realizing it, fingers working busily as the breeze played with the ends of the string. The memories were strong today, refused to leave..

Sign snorted quietly, recalling a few other songs she had heard the fae sing before. She'd once heard a song that had the line of "my mother, that's who I need." The mare was beginning to think there was something she wasn't being told.

"I never saw someone sew like that before."

It was a shattering responsibility, so she had turned to Sive to help. Sive, the eldest, who knew everything and wouldn't turn her away, even if this was the first contact in many thousands of moons. Sive had listened to her carefully, looking out the window, those golden eyes unreadable as always. When she had finished, they fixed on her.

"She's a part of your soul that needs healing," she had said, simply. "It is you that must put the pieces back together, and you alone that will know how. I can only tell you that travelling as you do will not help her - she needs stability for her foundation."

Always cryptic. But Sanguine could hardly argue with her words, for they made sense in an odd way she couldn't quite understand. So she told her Warriors that they would stay in the Fields for awhile longer; lucky in the end for that's where Hinote found them again, when he had been ready to return. But already she could feel the itch in her bones, the urge to get away, to flee again to new lands and new faces.

And maybe that's why she led Lock out here, to a place she hadn't dared to step foot in ever since she heard of it. A place where many of the Bonded like herself gathered, sharing their lives, stories...she feared it. She had never sought company, and while she could play the convincing role, being under others' eyes made her anxious. So it was with a vague wariness that she rested her hand against her newly Bonded's neck, silver eyes glancing about her, distance in her voice.

Ironically, it was Lock who first noticed the lady in the willow roots. The young mare tilted her head inquisitively, searching for the right word. "...Someone...Lady, there."

Sanguine's head snapped around and she stepped closer to the serian, eyes focused on the figure. She didn't sense any ill-intent, but at the same time she recognized the essence of magic as clear as day. "No...not a lady exactly. She's...different, like you, like the fae."

Lock snorted, stomped her foot on the ground in a slightly frustrated manner. "What I meant. You...not teach me word. Do not know...cannot say. Seems...as lady, so I say."

Absently, the girl tugged at her mane in a soothing fashion, still watching the woman weave threads on the air. There was another serian close by as well, probably bonded. "I know. I'm sorry. I'll explain more when we get back."

The mare tossed her head, mollified, but her eyes flickered in curiosity still. "What...she do?"

"What does she do," Sanguine corrected, almost by route. "She's weaving - making garments, like the ones I wear. Only she's using the wind, the...magic."

She bit her lip as the old ache of her inadequacy rose in her chest. She hid her face in the mare's neck. "We should go."

After all, it didn't look like a scene that should be disturbed.

((I hope this was an okay interruption? ^.^))

((It's lovely!))

She didn't jump, as one might expect of her. She hardly even seemed to react at all to the sudden appearance of her bonded. Sign saw the changes, though, saw the way the fae ducked her head and placed those walls around her.

"You'll have to turn to someone eventually, you know this."

"Techincally it's called weaving."

"Songhue.."

Tossing her long, flowing green main, she stepped closer and sighed, half hypnotized by the simple magics so casually shown.

"The winds tell me that someone is nearby."

"Do you want me to ask them to leave," Sign worried, lifting her head to listen for whoever it was her bonded spoke of. "I know others tend to frighten you.."

"You know more than you should, then. But no; I had hoped for company."

Sign was more than startled at that news. Typically the frail looking fae stayed home, almost hiding from any life other than her Serians.

"Come, come," Songhue called, her voice laughing lightly on the wind. "Come forth and may we be well met."

Snorting, Sign stepped closer, suddenly protective. Songhue, however, motioned her back, eyes flashing slightly.

"Peace, Sign. This is a day for stories and laughter; set your fears aside."

Sign did as bidden, turning to welcome any who might come, ears flicking idly towards her weaving bonded. She understood why the fae refused to lean on her, but she didn't agree with it. And like it or not, this Serian was going to look after the one who had created a realm for her bonded.

Lock nudged her bonded's shoulder. "She calls."

Sanguine sighed, turning her face again toward the clearing. They could pretend they had not heard, leave before she had anymore ties to this land. But she still had Lock to take care of, Lock who was with her, watching her, reading her...Lock whom she still needed to teach. She nodded, more to herself than anyone, and began to walk towards the lady and her bonded.

Lock was...pleased. She liked interaction, to a degree, mostly because she was curious. Spending so long a time in darkness, silence - while she looked back on it with a mild degree of fondness, she was entranced by the new world her bonded sought to show her. People...they were like toys to her. Amusing, colorful...strange too, but full of hidden meanings, secrets.

She liked to...play with them.

Sanguine stopped a few feet from the fae, lest their presence only be wanted for a short time. She noted the protection that the other serian had for her mistress; being a warrior so long had leant her a recognition of such feelings. However, she hadn't come to fight. Indeed, these sunny lands were hardly the place for her and her kind, but she wasn't naive enough to believe that all shadows fled from the light. There could still be danger, but as of now she wasn't the one to cause it.

"Hello," she greeted, simply, unsure how to answer the Lady's call with the same elegance. "Sorry if we disturbed you."

Lock was still studying the threads in the air. She mimicked her bonded's greeting with a voice only half there. "Hello."

"Greetings to ye and yon companion, fair lady. 'Tis no disturbance in the least, for you are welcome in my eyes."

"Greetings," Sign echoed, a smile twitching at her lips. It wouldn't be long before her bonded's old accent started showing if she kept this up.

"You seem less than pleased to be here," Songhue observed with a politely pleasant air. "So I ask that you tell your tale, for there may be something in which I could assist."

"Fancy pants," Sign snorted, though she couldn't keep the laughter out of her voice. Somehow it always tickled her when her bonded spoke.. The creature was mostly silent, after all.

Swishing her long tail, she turned and jumped in the air, snatching a mango from a near by tree and dropping it in the fae's lap as she continued to weave.

"Thank you kindly, my dear."

"Would you like some?" Sign asked, turning back to the two new faces. Food usually came in handy when her bonded decided it was time to tell tales and stroll for stories; though she didn't expect these two to know that.

Songhue simply wove, her fingers working nimbly with the wind, eyes focused on the strange garment before her.
