Gathering Around the Bonfire

The flames raged, clawing at the sky as the moon rose higher. Twilight had passed, true night had set in, and many slept peacefully; yet not she.

A meet with a mare, a gathering of humans and other two-legged beasts, and still she was not resting. She had wandered free of her bonded for some time after the afternoon spent at the stream, had made a few new acquaintances while socializing with creatures similar to herself, and yet still she stood, gazing into the flames as they roared in the night.

Her wings flicked, eyes glowing as the fire shot higher, flames spitting from the sides as a wind came to twist the dancing heat into a braided rope. Three strands, winding together, weaving, searching for the kindred heat of the stars, lighting the field as if it were dawn already.

Fire, water, earth, lightning, wind. My kindred spirits, sisters of the night... You are my solace.

OOC| New thread for Reintroductions, which quite promptly died. XD

Keira wandered in the chill night air. Breathing deeply and staring up at the sky as she walked. The tall grass tickled her calves as she strolled. She had left her bondeds just hours ago, checking in and making sure everything was going ok for them. She was worried about Lothorien though. He was so lonely and restless, she didnt know if he was going to be all right. Pixie was quite happy. He had recently returned from some alone time with his mate Path. And Starlight seemed to be adjusting well and was now off exploring, hopefully making some new friends.

She closed her eyes for a few moments just feeling the earth beneath her bare feet. When she opened them again she could see a faint glow in the distance. She stopped and concentrated on the spot. The light seemed to flicker and was quite far away. A fire? She wondered who was burrning a fire late at night. Hmmmm. She started to wander closer, sticking to the shadows, the darkest spots in the night. She wasnt sure who would be out here but she thought she better play it safe in case the person didnt want company or she didn't know them. So with that, silently she moved.

Vineda moved onward, closer to the beacon of light before her. Long grasses swayed in the wind and brushed her feet as she walked. This place was so strange, the way it pulled her here and there as though it had a plan for her. It was still a new sensation, but the scenery it led her through was always spectacular.

She had spent the end of her day gathering and preparing provisions as though putting together a meal for visitors, only to be interrupted by the unusual call that told her she had somewhere to be. Leaving her grotto with her food stuffed into a large sack, she progressed quickly enough. Now she stepped slowly into the circle of light of the roaring fire, not wanting to disturb the figure there.

The winds seemed to smooth the flames as they reached into the sky, stretching above the trees as they twined together, the little field between the two foothills seen glimmering between the loose braid.

The crumbling, white hog logs that fed the flames shifted suddenly, a spark of green seen between the haze of intertwining flames for a moment. It was gone and there again, flickering uncertainly as the winds picked up to lift sweet dewdrops into the air.

The droplets glimmered like diamonds, the flames danced, and in the center of the tender braid a great vine shot up, dancing within the heated embrace of braided fire as the shadows cut through the foothills.

And then, in a blink, it was gone, the breezes stilling into a cool caress, the great vine withering and fading as if never there, the bonfire shrinking back towards the cinders. Sighing, Songhue settled into the tall grasses, staring into the flames.

And waited.

Kyra walked down the hill that lead away from her valley. She had stopped in to check on her bondeds and was surprised to see only two there. Her beloved ice mare, Peace, who was swimming and playing games with one of her dolphin friends. She made the mistake of going over to see them and missed the black bullet heading for her, before she knew, she was soaked to the bone, complements of Pointer. She laughed, and shook her head. "Thanks Pointer," she said glaring at him playfully. Peace had come over in the time and had apologized for her energetic black bud, Kyra stroked the mare's silver ice mane. Then after saying by to Peace, she went around the valley trying to find the others. The only other she found was her newest bonded, Skid. The big, muscular black, green and bay stallion had come over, with a nickering greeting. He bowed to her and then proceeded to lean his muscle against her face. He told her where the others were; Amber was with Silverflash, Dart was off wondering and Crash had last been seen leaving the valley and following a stream. She thanked him for the update, hugged him and now was making her way through the forest outside her valley.

She stopped and sighed, the night air was so fresh. She loved it, her hair blew around her face as for the first time in a while she had released it from her blue ribbon. Her birth marks as usually were glowing with the site of the moon, but as long as it wasn't one of two moons, she would have nothing to worry about. That was about the time Kyra spotted the fire in the distance. She was curious to who would be there and started in that direction. Doing her best to stay to the shadows.

OOC| You should so bring Skid into the new thread in the Fields. :D

BIC| The breezes had finally stilled, allowing her to discern noises of the night from noises in the shadows. After a moment she realized there were two nearby, one directly behind her, and perhaps a third approaching still. She had thought all would be resting...

"There is no use in lingering in the safety of darkness when it is known that you are there."

A simple invite to step towards the light. She wasn't afraid of any here, Serian or bonded, though her typical social skills would lead many to think otherwise.

The flames crackled, dancing in her eyes as she watched them, waiting. That was really all she could do at this point. Sit.. Watch the dance.. And wait.
