Feeling a little awkwardness in the silence, Vineda was glad when Songhue seemed to snap out of her reverie. "You're welcome! I knew there'd be people, though I had thought there would be more. We'll have extra." Her smile showed at the pleasing remark and she watched as the fae's flames leapt. Was she holding the image there?

Vineda's smile widened at the mention of her griffon friend. "Griffons are noble and very beautiful. Passing through a land of mountains known as Gatathla Hundansta, I happened upon a griffin with a broken tail. I mended him, and though I could not give him a perfect job of it... it was well enough. He told me then that they had too many eggs and that I was welcome to adopt one if I was able to find one and give it a home. 'Twas a fun trek through the mountains, watching for hidden eggs."

"Would you tell us of your mate?" Was it her imagination or did the flames jump higher and dance more merrily as the fae brought him up? He must be special indeed, to make her new friend glow so.

"Yes, thanks for the food," Kyra said her cheeks going a bit red in embarrassment for not saying so sooner. She listened intently at the girl's story, "Wow, that must have been awkward and scary. Those creates are very hard to understand, they jump from mood to mood with in a blink on an eye. Well that is what I have read about them." Kyra looked over at the fairy, she noticed the chance in her aurora, she was beaming with joy. "Please do tell of you mate," she knew from the change that occurred in Songhue that he must be a very special male.

"Ah, they shift as the breezes do, this is true. She that I met was... Unique in her own way. Mayhaps, if it is still around, we shall meet that which came of the egg you trekked for, assuming you had such luck as to find one."

She paused a moment, listening to the sounds behind the words, her eye flashing star-bright as they inquired after her mate. The flames danced brighter, faster, stronger as the mere thought of this male lent her health.

It was an unexpected turn, but not unwelcome. She had found it hard to think of little else as of late. Smiling ever so slightly, watching the shapes and shadows within the flames, she reached up and gently touched her blue opal necklace, tilting her head in such a way that her tiara gleamed in the dancing light.

"To speak of him is to speak of all the light and shadow of all the realms through all of time. He is as I myself am, a fae of strange origin. One with many faces, many stories, many nights spent under different stars."

The flames danced, the shadows whirled, her eyes glowed and through it all could be seen a figure of a tall, well built male. One of dusky skin, filigree wings and elven features. He seemed to be kneeling, though it didn't last long; in a blink he had glanced up and was looking around at them all, eyes flashing.

"He spends his days working and learning, furthering his abilities. When we met.. I.."

Songhue trailed off, shaking her head. Such a time did not bear speaking of, dark as it was. The figure in the flames seemed to lock his eyes on her when she did, a soft smile curving his lips as if in recognition, a smile she gladly returned.

"Simply being around him heals me, makes me stronger. Each time I wake I have to see how long it shall be until he can hold me for the night once again. I must know his touch as I drift off to sleep, else rest will never come. My joy comes from his laughter, my peace from his gaze. We belong to one another, I to him and he to I."

She smiled and watched the flames, eyes dancing merrily as the fire sparked to reveal a great lion of pale blue flame. So he had finally 'grown' into his full feline form.. Ah, but he was a handsome creature.

The flames quieted their dance and shrank back, having nearly doubled in size while she spoke. The great lion that could be seen in the center if one but looked faded into the rest of the fire, his eyes dancing merrily as a knowing little smile curved his muzzle. He would be waiting for her, when she finally returned to the realm she had created for her bonded.

"Well with griffins being both of earth and of air, of gentle lion and fierce eagle, 'tis no small wonder they should have so many moods. The egg has since hatched and young Rhavanien as she is called has quite taken to the Wood in which I make my home." A bit defensive, yes, but she had become quite attached to her new friend.

Surprised at herself for having made such a lengthy speech, Vineda shifted positions, sitting up with crossed legs as she watched Songhue's eyes sparkle and dance at the thought of her mate. The fae began to speak words that were light as wind, full of joy and motion. The heat of the blaze increased as it wound up to the stars. Outlines appeared in the fire, unclear until a spark showed the great lion. Glowing blue in the bright flames, he almost looked ready to leap out and join them. And as Songhue let go, the image slowly faded again as the fire returned to its smaller size. Her peace was beautiful. "I am so glad that you have found such a one. Have your bondeds had a chance to meet with him?" She tried not to duck her head at her own curiosity.

A vague nod acknowledged Keira's departure, her lips still curved in that soft, peaceful smile. As Vineda inquired further the smile spread slightly. It was a very good feeling, having someone take an interest in her again. Being seen as something more than a small creature in the shadows again.

"They are now, though only just recently has this come to pass. He came to visit me in the realm I created, that they would have a proper home and it just so happened that all three were home for once. It was a great and merry eve, that.. Ah, but I do not wish to bore you with such things."

Songhue stopped herself right on the edge of rambling, her eyes still glowing joyously as the pondered his touch, his kiss, his smile. The words that danced on her tongue were as soft as spring petals and lighter than the breeze of a butterfly's wings, yet she dared not burden this new friend, all the same.

"What of yourself, if you've a mind to share, my dear. I'm sure you've many a tale to share from your travels."

OOC| Please forgive the long wait, my brain.. Took a vacation. x.x
