Re: The Tale of Nix

Songhue grinned as she flipped around in search of everyone else and caught sight of a familiar, characteristic smirk. She had come to know that expression quite well, though when he had first started grinning in such a cocky manner she had found a nearly overwhelming urge to slap the spit out of his mouth for it. She knew he wasn't an arrogant male at that point, however, so she had curbed this reaction. Now she saw it for what it was, instead of what she had come to associate it with; it was simply a look of playful confidence, the expression that said he could catch her in a game of tag or make her melt with a simple, growling purr. And as her health and heart were returned to her, she found herself mirroring the expression every now and again.

She mirrored it now, quickly flipping about and slamming her tail through the water, buffeting him as she sped along. It only took a blink for him to break free of the current that had sent him tumbling, but the look on his face was well worth it to her.

Popping up just long enough for a breath of air and the little rodent to find and cling to her fur, Songhue glanced about for the others and dove under them at almost the same moment that Waterlily found himself tagged back, almost burrowing into the bottom as her mate barreled towards all four of them.

Re: The Tale of Nix

As waterlily spins around he laughs at being caught by Vineda, and as an otter no less. AS she swims away and Songhue swims towards us with her mate right behind her, waterlily focuses his attention and bubbles start to erupt around him. More and more bubbles everywhere until visibility is almost zero. As he sneaks by Vineda, he taps Songhue on her tail and then quickly swims away.

He gets on top of the water again and watches the fun. Hopefully no one can see him up here with all those bubbles everywhere. waterlily smiles. This is about the most fun he has had in a long time. He starts to remember playing the same games as a young one back where he is from. He has been somewhat distracted lately, but his longing for home begins to overwhelm him. He starts to stare up at the sky.

Re: The Tale of Nix

Vineda looked back to Waterlily, only to find a mass of bubbles! As they cleared it became apparent that the little sneak had played a good trick and disappeared, and a grin spread quickly across her features.

She has no such tricks up her sleeve at the moment, so she swam up towards the bank in a series of loops and twists. As she neared land, she pulled herself up and sunned luxuriously on a rock. The peace won't last long, she knew, so the warmth was enjoyed for what it was at the moment. She also waited with anticipation, because she knew none of her friends, new or old, would let her get away with it for long...

Re: The Tale of Nix

waterlily watches as Vineda attempts to rest on a rock far off on the banks. He brilliantly comes up with a fun distraction. He gets a little closer and then starts to flick water droplets with his tail over to Vineda as she bathed in the sunlight. Her furry little body would not stay dry so long as he had anything to do with it. He smiles a devilishly clever grin as he continues the barrage of water drops.

Re: The Tale of Nix

The bubbles did the trick - within moments of feeling a light tap on her tail, Draëkath barreled into her. The wind was knocked out of both of them as they tumbled under the waves, only to break through the surface moments later with a loud burst of laughter. They had never detangled - simply moved together, surfacing as if holding one another.

They shifted at the same instant, each of them into their fae forms. Songhue let a quiet purring sound slip out as he wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled. With a smile and a kiss, he touched her face and murmured quietly - the next instant the air rippled and he was gone once again.

Sighing in contentment, the fae flicked her wings dry and reached down to tickle Waterlily as she passed him on her way to the shore. Stretching out just out of reach of his water spray seemed very appealing at the moment - as did stretching out and watching the clouds roll by for a few moments.

Re: The Tale of Nix

She'd just been getting warm and drowsy when the drops began to splash her, one by one. At the first she started, even though she'd told herself to be ready for an attack. As more splashes followed she flicked an ear, sneakily pretending not to notice. XD

It was rather nice, actually, having a cool splish now and again to refresh her after sitting on the sun warmed rock and feeling the rays as the day reached its height... She kept herself from laughing as she sat extended on the rock, but just barely. And there was no way she could hide her grin. She waited impatiently to see what Waterlily would do when his bait was not taken.

A mischevious wink was thrown at Songhue; she was so glad to see her friend get a chance to meet and play with her mate again. But he had disappeared so fast! She'd wanted to call him back when he disappeared, sad that she'd not been more attentive or included him more in the play. Ahh, but she could only hope he would be there waiting for Songhue when she arrived home.
