Ok, one more week to go! I'll end this tentatively on the 13th (I have a busy weekend, so that's why it's tentatively... you might have a few more days, but I wouldn't count on it ^^; )

I've been kind of uninspired, and I didn't want to write something uninspired for this important a contest. We'll see if I can jiggle something out of my brain by the deadline ^_^

The pattern of the cosmos swirled around her in a dance as she moved through the land. In her very being she could feel the turning of the sun, the moon’s frosted wink, and the stars ever sparkling. Around her she watched with pleasure as life unfurled… so very complex and yet simple enough, to one of her kind.

With wisdom and experience as a cloak, Eternal gazed onward with a steady patience, a knowing. Many wonders had she seen – of this world, and others. And plenty more would she see yet. As she walked a youthful longing, a newness of spirit kindled within her, an anticipation for life. Wisdom might be her own, yet far was she from a sleepy, weary mare. A cool surge ran through her, a cold fire burning through her veins like the silver ice of moonbeams. It spread from her heart to the crown of her head to the tips of her hooves.

Still onward she walked, aware of her own beauty as she was aware of the beauty all around her. It simply was. Smooth were her movements, powerful yet gentle on the land and plant life upon which her hooves trod. Her hide reflected the light, stars seeming to glow in mirror to those above.

Arriving at the pool that had been her destination, she cast an unsettling gaze into the depths of space, the moon mirroring itself on the smooth surface. A shadow crossed her face, briefly as a swift's wing eclipses the sun. Perhaps she could linger here to stare thoughtfully into the pool for a time, gleaning any manner of mystical knowledge. Yet it was much more appealing to continue on through yon meadow marveling at the refined tune of the night insects serenading. Or to feel the fine playful strands of breeze weaving themselves into braids and then whoosing off in an abrupt game of tag. A babbling brook, racing over rocks and around curves, sounded much more appropriate for the moment. 'Twas all too easy to become lost in musings by the quiet poolside under the sky.

She wondered if the stars could feel the waves of joy and wonder that she could sense from her surroundings, those of grief and despair. Right and wrong? Perhaps from a star's eye view a pattern could be seen through the chaos, so that even 'evil' became a pattern of a greater music. Amidst the blinks of the stars she could feel her own heart pulse it's rhythm, sending blood coursing through each vein. It was an awareness she never really lost, a keen understanding of the intricacies and relationships all around... a web of infinite beauty and complexity between and betwixt all things. As Eternal gazed at one star in patricular her focus landed on the feel of the pull, like a glowing thread weaving through all that was, an infinite gravity that twines through space and time connecting even life and death in a fluid, ever-changingness. Forgetting and remembrance, melding into such as all see before them, or hear, or smell or feel.

With a sweet breath of the twilit air Eternal moved onward. This night, she worried not over what the future might hold in store. It was tantalizing simply to know that the possibilities were endless, to anticipate what turn of events might come forth to surprise her. This night, she reveled in the present.

OOC| Wellp, I truly apologize to you ladies if this is "oish"... it's a brain thing, sometimes I just don't know what it's doing in there. Butttttttt I think it's time I stop beating around the bush. Happy Thursday night??! ;)

*pokes head in, peeks around, gives Eternal a light pat and settles in near her hooves to wait with her* You'll have a chance to make your choice real soon, sugar.
