Moonlight Swim

Post by Keira »

These characters are somewhat like serians but not quite but they are horse like.

Poison Ivy looked around, there was no one to be seen at this early hour, but she couldn't blame them for not being up. The sun wouldn't even be up for at least another hour. She approached the moonlit lake and tested the water with her hoof. Perfect. She came here to swim every morning. It was so peaceful that it just called to her and no matter what she did to stay away... she couldn't it was like it was in her blood, buried deep in her soul and she couldn't deny it, nor did she want to. No, she was perfectly content to be how she was...free. Plain and simple and she liked it. She liked that she could go and do what ever she wanted whenever she wanted. There was nothing or no one to stop her from being herself. Not that it would be entirely bad to have a mate. The thought had crossed her mind more than once since she had reached adult hood, about a year ago. But if she did ever have a mate he would have to be at least somewhat like her. He would have to be a free spirit, one who liked being out in nature and enjoying all that life has to offer. He would have to be kind, understanding, and patient with her. To give her the freedom that she enjoyed now, one who would want to run, swim, and wander with her. As she stepped into the lake and sighed contentedly the water embraced her as only it could. It enclosed around her body like a cool and cozy feeling. She didn't know why but it gave her a feeling of peace and security to just wade out into the water and be able to think and relax and just plain enjoy her freedom. After about a half an hour she thought she heard a noise to her left. She turned suddenly to look but there was nothing there, just the forest that was still sleeping peacefully. She relaxed again and just as she did there was a noise right in front of her and there was no denying that there was someone or something there with her so she looked up and her breath caught in her throat.

:D thanks but I only started writing it about a week ago.
P.S. Poison Ivy in this story isn't meant to be me. I just love the name (obviously)

Cannabis wandered through the night. He hadn't slept any so he finally decided to get up and go for a walk while he cleared his head. This land was strange to him but then again that was not surprising as he had only been here for two days. He had left his home land because he couldn't be there without being reminded of his loss. One that he was sure would affect him for the rest of his life. It was hard to leave his parents, siblings and his close friends but he knew that in the end it would be for the best. He couldn't see now how life could possibly get better because his life was so low at this point that he was sure it could only get better. He wandered aimlessly for a while wallowing in self pity but soon he realized that he was lost and not just lost, lost in a forest. Great just another wonderful point in his life. He stopped to look around but he couldn't tell where he was or what direction to go in. Even squinting didn't help all that much all he could see was trees. He picked a direction, took a deep breath and plunged on. After what seemed like an eternity there was a clearing in front of him so he stopped for a minute to rest. There was a sound that he figured was a little past the clearing, it sounded like a splash but he couldn't be sure. Finally after a couple more deep breaths he got up and walked on. No sooner had he walked into the clearing then he spotted the most beautiful mare he had ever seen. She seemed very surprised to see him but then again he was surprised to be there himself. There was something in the way she looked at him, with those big curious eyes, it made him momentarily forget his problems.

This is really good Ivy. Keep going. *waits semi-patiently for the next part*
That's the thing about black and white: mix them together and you get gray. And no matter how much white you put back in, it'll still always be gray.
