The snow covered the ground, atleast a couple centimetres of the cold white substance. Snowy hills were outlined by the setting sun, darkness falling over the little paradise.
A silhouette could be clearly seen, the yellow sun allowing the mare to pop out against the background.
A chilly breeze caught up her mane and tail, blowing them about and sending a chill down her spine. She closed her eyes for a moment or so, trying to imagine a warm place, and hopefully use the illusion to warm herself a bit.
Even if it was fake, it helped a little bit.

Hinote hated the cold, the bitter chill that whipped into the very marrow of his bones, dulling his fire. He rather preferred the desert, with its wind-whipped skies of almost painfully clear blue and the stinging sands that went on forever. It was in the desert he had fallen and wandered, in the desert where Mirage...
He shook his spiked mane furiously against the cold, remembering why he was here. To run, to forget, to just get away. Brittle could never help him, and Id...Id could not feel. All he needed was the space and time of these snowy mountains, something to dull that fiery ache inside him.
There was a figure ahead, one he recognized instantly. The firebrand mare, the one from the clearing. Saphire. He was good at recalling names, the only evidence that he had brains, Brittle would tease sometimes.
Again he snorted violently, trying to rid himself of the thoughts. He bent his head and pushed to the valley, trying to pass the mare unnoticed, but knowing he would fail. His crimson coat stood out as a blaze of color against the driving white.

SaphireSpin spotted the red stallion with ease, freezing to the spot almost instantly. She stood and thought for a moment, her legs starting to tremble from the cold.
The mare started to hop through the snow, jumping foreward, then pausing, then jumping forth again. Each jump sending her a couple strides away from where she had previously stood.
When she found herself in ear shot of him, she spoke. "...Hey..." Sure, it wasn't much, but she figured when he answered, it would in some form of insult, if he decided to answer at all.
