"After that fight? Are you freaking kidding me? I'm probably banned from the family." She sighed, her mane falling over her eyes.

She could hear less and less of the wind outside but the chill never ceased.

He could hear the wind fading as well, and stood, stretching gently. Still, he made no move to go outside. For some reason, he didn't want to leave this distraction, it was nice, like a dream fading.

"Ch," he said shortly. "You're dad wouldn't kick you out of the family. Doesn't care how much you pissed em off. You'll have to work at your relations though, and keep a hold on that mouth of yours."

He wished he had had a father to tell him that.

"My mouth is just fine the way it is." She grumbled, glaring at the ground. She slowly stood, not bothering to stretch after being in one position for that long. Sure, her muscles would be stiff, but they'd get better.

The mare turned on her heel and walked towards the opening, light pouring down on her, warming her chilled form. Fat snowflakes still dropped from the sky, but it was hardly as bad as it had been.

"Well..."

"This our bittersweet goodbye then, eh firebrand?"

She looked pretty standing in the light, younger, somewhat of a jaded innocent, but he wouldn't let her know that. There were things that needed to be kept to himself. Love was not meant for warriors, whose touch was to kill, not the tender grace of a lover's. They barely knew each other anyways, and apparently their time was cutting short. But he was too used to goodbyes.

He trotted to her side, a crooked grin on his face. The sun was bright, warm, reminiscent of the desert harshness he was leaving to face. Maybe he wouldn't return, maybe he would. For all she knew, she oculd be the last to see him in these lands. But she didn't need to know that, either, but it wasn't as if she would care anyways.

((Sorry, I've been busy setting up my own adoption agencies, and with the ET ^^;;))

ooc| XD That's quite alright.

bic| She shrugged, a smirk playing across her lips. "I guess so, Bud." She examined the snowy horizon carefully, attempting to keep herself from bursting into song again.

"Bittersweet... Thats a good word to describe you." She grumbled, the corners of her lips twitching.

He gave what might have been a rough sigh, enjoying the warmth on his face. He shook some of the falling snow from his mane, a motion almost reminiscent of Avalir's grace. "And how would that decribe me, firebrand?"

Why did they keep stalling time? What could he possibly hope to achieve, a reason to stay? As if, too far gone from hope. He just wanted to feel a little bit human before he left.
