"Wherever the wind takes us," was the blue stallion's reply. It wasn't long before the two stallions could make out a vague shimmering above the beach. They approached with caution, unsure of what it could be. River certainly hadn't ever seen anything like it.

The blue stallion stretched out his neck and whiffled at it. The shimmer seemed to react as if it had been tickled, bending away from his nostrils. Then it reached out a tendril towards him and he leaped back, not wanting to be touched by it just yet.

"Weird", was all he could say. He glanced over at Wisp to see what he thought of the apparition.

OOC| Just so you know, I have no idea what that thing is, so feel free to make up whatever you like *g*

The bright male quirked a brow, staring down hard at the little creature in mild curiousity. After a moment or so of going to all the possibilities, he came up with something.

"A jellyfish, maybe?" Wisp suggested, tilting his head to the side to get a better look at it. It would explain the odd shimmering and the tendril... But didn't they die after being on land for too long?

" Very weird," He agreed, nodding his head. Though he didn't make a move toward it as his friend had done. The last thing he wanted was to get stung or something.

The shimmer appeared to writhe when Wisp called it a jellyfish, though whether it was agreeing or not, or perhaps was just a random movement, the two stallions couldn't tell. River scrunched up his eyes and tried to picture the shimmer floating around in the water.

"Could be. Do you think it might be dying then? Maybe we should try to get it back into the water."

However he made no move to touch it. Though he'd only heard about jellyfish he too knew about their stinging tentacles. He looked over a Wisp, hoping the other stallion would come up with the solution. The voice in his mind added, "Idiot". River shook his head, trying to ignore it knowing full well he wasn't all that smart, he didn't need to be reminded of it!

"Probably," Wisp nodded in agreement, then glanced around in an attempt to find something they could use to put it back with touching it.

"Aha!" Triumph was clear on the stallion's face as he spotted a couple twigs and a medium size slab of stone. He trotted over and snatched the sticks up in his mouth and began pushing the rock back over to his friend with his hoof.

"Ve can ush deesh."

"Great!" River exclaimed and got out of Wisp's way. Um, yeah...though he was all eager to help the poor dying jellyfish, he still didn't want to get near it. Bad enough it almost touched him once before. Courage would never be one of the blue stallion's strong points. Leave that to someone like Titan or Briar.

The thing rippled across the sand towards them. It wasn't a threatening movement, but it caught both of them by surprise.

He positioned the two sticks in his mouth so the ends were pointing out, and carefully slid them beneath the jellyfish's body to lift it up off the sand. Then, very slowly, he slid it onto the rock and began pushing the creature's "raft" back towards the water.

Finally, liquid lapped at the sides of the rock and after a few moments the tiny creature vanished into it's home, becoming instantly invisible among the rippling tides.

Wisp turned and trotted back to his friend after abandoning the sticks at the shore, and gave a triumphant smile.

"It's all good now."
