Re: Re-Introductions

"Ok," she said watching her friend go. While Keira was off gathering more wood, Kyra made a rock circle for the fire to put in. She made the circle roughly two stones high. "Alright," she knelt down and put her right hand over the wood that was now in the rock pit. Her water horse marking started to glow and eerie blue color and the wood began to sizzle. A few seconds later and a small fire started, she stood up again and turned to her friend, "All done." She smiled and looked into the flames and then at her hand were the markings was slowly dimming back to just being a blue birthing mark.

Re: Re-Introductions

The apple was accepted with the typical glee found in a squirrel, though she did manage not to simply snatch the piece of fruit. Once Vineda noted that the others had moved on she stood on her back legs and flicked her tail, looking around as she nommed the juicy treat.

"I shall tell you where to go, my dear, never fear.. And I thank you for the compliment."

Songhue had slipped easily into the ancient speech patterns of her people once this strange girl had come along, yet merely thinking of the others quailed her flowery tongue. She had gotten the impression before that something in her language made others uncomfortable, yet there was only so much she could do for it.

"The winds cannot readily reach them, so I can only tell you where they were before they vanished from my sight.. Yet I'm sure you shall easily find them at this point."

Re: Re-Introductions

After munching a piece of apple, Vineda tried to hold still to avoid unbalancing the squirrel and was delighted to hear that her new friend could easily find the others.

“You are most certainly welcome, and glad to hear I might still find the people of this gathering after all… Pray lead on, my fair friend, if it be pleasing to you”, she threw in this last part with a grin. Letting out a single loud whistle, Vineda made sure her companion was secure and started walking toward the lake. A black cat that looked all too much like a panther slinked haughtily out of a particularly large patch of grass and followed at a distance.

Re: Re-Introductions

Mcderth watched the young women as she just sat there staring into space. Hmm, guess she's as wierd as the rest of them. He turned around joined the ones building the fire and sat down. He watched them but didn't say anything. He seemed lost in his own thoughts.

Re: Re-Introductions

She guided her new found friend through the grasses, around stones, passed a few sparse trees to where the others had stood not long ago. Once they got that far, however, her directions stopped and she simply flung herself off Vineda's head.

Songhue was only in the air for a mere moment. In a blink and a shimmer the fae stood once again, wings flicking idly in the night air.

Looking around showed her the large cat nearby, a sight that made her smile a little painfully and pause a moment.

"I had a sister-cousin once, who held such a form as your friend.."

That was all that was said, all that was needed. She had to resist the urge to simply walk up to it and scratch an ear, for all the resemblance it held to the girl she had once cherished. She didn't of course, merely went back to looking around to find the direction the others had taken before they had gone from the wind.

A small nod was the sign that she'd found it, the flickering glow of the flames springing up after a few steps. Grinning, she resisted the urge to take Vineda's hand, though she did step up to the edge of the shadows herself.

"Look what I found."

Re: Re-Introductions

As the dusk became solid and the last rays of the setting sun disappeared, the two approached the shore of the lake. The smallest tensing of the squirrel’s body before she leapt was the only warning offered to Vineda, but it was enough. She halted, and if she had had time she would have anticipated what she would see Songhue turn into next. But to her great surprise, in the next instant her eyes fell on a fairy! She looked as though she had just popped out of a dream or a fairy tale. Vineda thought with a smile, I shouldn't have been surprised.

Vineda saw her friend glance behind her and turned to see the panther-cat still striding towards them slowly, as though he owned the world. Show off! she thought at him. The emotions she saw playing across Songhue’s face made her want to give her a hug or a few comforting words, but she wasn’t sure it would be welcome. Strange to think that she had only met this other earlier that day.

“That is Illishar. He was my rescuer and guide, who brought me here to this land, and for that I believe I owe him my life. Quite the proud soul is he, I must say.”

Illishar had begun slinking toward the fae, but she had turned and stepped toward the fire. Vineda followed after shooting the panther-cat a questioning look. He stalked off into a distant shadow to keep watch. She smiled at the group, hoping her smile didn’t waver in the uncomfortable moment when all eyes turned from Songhue to herself. “Hello,” she squeaked out, then almost instantly asked herself silently, That’s the best you can do? Hello? She heard a snicker from Illishar in her mind.
