Oh, sweet satisfaction. This Sunspot wasn't underdeveloped; he was waiting for someone to tell him what to be. It was so easy, almost as easy as Shiro had been. The difference was that Shiro had been glad to comply, had been completely without fear. Shiro was naturally submissive. He doubted that was the case with Sunspot.

Lifting his head, he looked around as the waves crested up his cheeks, squinting into the light. There was an island not far off, little more than a sand bar, and a natural cove formed by the mountainside in the other direction. Open water and a wide beach of pale sand surrounded them, each seeming to be covered with their own unique hills. Dipping between a few of them he could see some tidal pools; little pockets of water that frequently held some small pieces of life.

He had already felt the seaweed that had tried to tangle around his hooves drying up and crumbling in an instant death. Other than that, he had sensed little life directly around him, little influence he'd had; none of the fish had come close enough to find harm through him and he had made a point not to look at anything too directly. The closest coral was glimmering a few dozen feet down the beach, barely seen through the clear waters.

Before we play, we all need to state one area here that we would like the least to go. I want to avoid the corals.

I don't want to lose sight of land, Shiro said, instantly obeying without thinking about it, although he knew perfectly well how this game was played. He bit his tongue to resist explaining; Caustic hadn't asked for an explanation. This was a lesson he had learned the hard way.

Even so, Caustic had to fight the urge to punish him. Sunspot was the focus here; Shiro had best remember that and stop being quite so up front. His reply had been valid; the instant eagerness earned him a warning glare.

What frightens you about where we're at, he demanded of Sunspot, and with a dry grin added Other than me.

He shuddered at Caustic's last sentence. Then looked up to see what was around.

The cove. he said simply before dipping his again causing his muzzle to dip under the water. He would only pick his head up for a breathe of air then put it back under. Coves were too similar to caves, and he avoided caves at all costs. He hated the dark and being too enclosed. It made him feel isolated and alone. And he's spent too much of his life all alone in the darkness. He blinked, coming back to the present, then stood and waited for further instruction.

Caustic raised a brow, mildly surprised. Sunspot gave in that easily? Well, at least the fear was gone in him.

For the moment.

You're it, Sunspot. Ready to play?

With that, he and Shiro each took a breath and disappeared under the waves, swimming off in their own directions until they thought they were far enough away to avoid giving away their positions as they surfaced.

Caustic, of course, headed straight for the cove. Shiro went off toward the sand bar.

Things would get interesting very soon. Caustic doubted that Sunspot had already been pushed hard enough to break.

He gasped in shock, bad move since his muzzle was still underwater. After coughing for a few minutes, he closed his eyes and shouted MARCO!!! And then stood there, waiting for the answering polo. He felt... nothing. Just this creeped out fear gnawing at his insides, making them even colder than the water he was in. He shuddered thinking about Caustic's sudden interest in him. He honestly felt like prey right now. He didn't like it, but he figured that the only way to get out of this mostly unscathed was to submit to Caustic's will and let himself be dominated over. Because all he cared about at this point was getting out of this alive.

lifting his head high to let his voice carry, Caustic let out a bellowing answer, mentally taking note of how limp and complacent Sunspot's movements were now. For a moment bored disappointment flickered through his mind; then he made a slight internal shift and tweaked his approach.

Shiro let out his own call of Polo! at almost the exact same instant, yet his call was nearly drowned in the force of Caustic's. Shiro was not made for shouting. Still, while he fiddled about waiting to see who would be the one to get a chase first, he did enjoy exploring the sandy island poking out of the water. It was crusted in tiny little shell-like things along the sides, something that seemed to be almost growing along the banks. Strange. He would have to ask about those later on.

Meanwhile, Caustic made use of his own time gained by exploring the cove a little more. What could possibly be so daunting about the little bit of sea tucked right up to the very side of a mountain? There was something this fellow was allowing to bend him to the point that what was just a small nudge from Caustic was enough to completely crumble any indication of will inside him. What was already weighing so heavily within the stranger? He asked odd questions, both from them and apparently Frolic, questions that made no sense to Caustic regarding Bond-Mates and punishments from Bondeds. He'd shown every little else on who or what he might view himself as, other than easily broken and someone weak enough to run away.

Even Shiro wouldn't run away.

There was something very, very wrong inside of Sunspot. Something that was still unhealed.

Caustic was going to keep pushing and testing until he discovered what it was. Broken things cast in shadow were, after all, an active interest of his.

And Shiro was beginning to find the entire spectacle fairly interesting between his attempts at learning what he could of this 'ocean' environment. In all honesty he had already gotten several ideas both from Caustic and Sunspot's interactions and this new beach phenomenon that he could put into practice with Flint. They would have a very interesting date after this.

He heard a loud polo come from behind. He turned in that direction and began heading over with his eyes still closed. He would constantly call out marco and head toward the answering polos. He began to realize that the one he was headed towards was Caustic from the tone of his voice and how he was beginning to feel his overbearing presence. He kept walking until he bumped into something causing him to open his eyes. He looked up and saw that he was at the entrance to the cove. Fear swept through him like a tidal wave. His breathing got a little heavier and he backed up a few steps.

'Calm down, calm down. It's just a little enclosed that's all. It's not even dark.' He chanted in his head taking deep, calming breaths. But as luck would have it a cloud went in front of the sun causing it to darken dramatically. He squeaked and began shivering in fear. This was so not his day. He took a deep breath then, clenching his jaw, he closed his eyes and began walking forward again, pretending he was walking to the sand bar. Losing was right up there with darkness on his hate list. And he really hated darkness.
